View Full Version : Virtua Cop Problems - Help? ^^"
Hey all I just got my Saturn today and it all seems to be working pretty well
Having been blinded by NiGHTS, I tried out Virtua cop 2 with the blue gun controller, it connects to the saturn and seems to work fine, I can hit start and shoot and it registers
the problem I think, is with aiming, everytime I shoot, I just get a clicking noise (maybe I'm constantly re-loading?) I've tried the gun calibration but that didn't help at all..
Does anyone own Virtua Cop, and does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks =]
That does sound quite strange. I can't recall ever playing VC with the Saturn's lightgun, so I'm not sure what you can do to fix it, if anything.
If calibration isn't working, perhaps your gun's buggered. You got any other games you can test it out with?
Nah I don't think so...
I'm unsure how they work to be honest, it must sense light or something right? maybe the sensor's busted, so it'll click and work, but not be able to figure out where the screen is...

What kind of TV do you have?
The tv in my room is a 16" LCD TV...at 60hz I think, maybe?
The one in my living room is significantly bigger xD 32"ishmaybe? It won't work on either
If they're both set to 60Hz, you might have to reset the refresh rate down to 50Hz. It could be that the TVs refreshing far too quickly for the hits to register.

Ah, LCD. That explains your problem. Light guns only work on older CRT televisions.

o_o serious?
...dangit...*throws out house of the dead, virtua cop, etc xD*
You could always pop out to the shops and buy a cheapo telly. I'm sure you could get one for around £20-30, which isn't bad if you're intending on spending £50+ on rare Saturn games.

There's a reason I own a 21" CRT TV... So I can play light gun games! That and retro games look nasty on LCD televisions. ;)
They do actually, I tried the saturn on 'the biiig tv' and the screen kept flickering and blech >< looked pretty bad, moved to my smaller tv and it looked really sweet
I miiight have an older CRT kicking around somewhere...my problem is the space they take up, my room isn't exactly massive..
Anyway, thank you all ^__^" I was ready to buy another gun, now it turns out all I need is a tv XD umm....yay?
But yeah =] thanky

Older games really look better on smaller TV screens. I have kept a 51cm (don't know how many inches) Philips TV for a few years and when I bought a Saturn last year I couldn't be happier. Also I've heard that using a light gun on some of the new TV sets can damage screen image.

Seriously? Owch...though Time Chrisis...3...4? is out on PS3, I'm unsure if that's good or not, as its relatively new, I'd assume it won't damage a screen?
The newer light guns use a sensor similar to what the Wii uses, and doesn't transmit a signal through the telly like the older guns do.
Off topic, wrong forum, smite me moderators ><
But to save creating a new thread, does anyone here own the PS3 time chrisis, and is it worth the £60 price? I may get it come the weekend...depends...

Well considering at work we've had returns and loads traded, I'd say it sucks.
I've not heard anything favourable about it, to be honest. Probably best to look for it preowned, or wait for the price to drop.
I sort of figured as much...
Plus, if glaring at the tv all day didn't kill my eyesight, the glowing orange gun sure would, geez @_@ ugly thing..

Really? I tested my Saturn on my friends 52" plasma and I think it looked damn sexy. I could see every pixel on the sprites in Cotton 2 and Rayman. It was so sharp that I probably would've cut myself if I touched the screen. Way better than when we tried playing wii games on it. that just hurt our eyes.
