So I just finished Space Harrier II (http://ricebeans.wingless-angel.net/?p=52) for the Sega Genesis. That game is a pretty difficult win, did you guys have problems with it? Is anyone on here a big fan?

Haven't beaten this one. Only have it on an emulator now though and the sound is a bit messed up, which puts me off playing it.

I got it on the Virtual Console and haven't finished it yet. Personally, I liked the first one better (loved it actually), but this is a good enough sequel.
Now that I have been playing through Ecco II: The Tides of Time yet again, I might try Space Harrier II again.

I don't remember playing the first one, let me look through my collection and see.

It was an Arcade game that was ported to the Master System. Personally, I played the Arcade version a couple of times and tried it hundreds of times years later on Shenmue II. So, that's why I say I liked it better than the sequel.

I see I'll have to check it out. Shouldn't be that hard to find.
Space Harrier brings back memories of the golden gaming age and Yu Suzuki era. The game has some excellent music and nice gameplay. Used quite a few hours on this one and have completed it if I don't remember wrong. Would be nice if Sega would release Planet Harriers on a home console. That one was released on the Hikaru board and would be excellent for the Wii:)

I didn't know that Yu Suzuki was behind it. I love the music, I looked around but it was hard to find a good version of it online to add to my collection. Planet Harriers? I have to look into that.

Have to look into that myself i've not heard of it. When I first got my mega drive space harrier was the second game I got for it. Played it all the way through. Tried having A go on the 32x version last night, I think I have A case of the rose tinted specs with this one. I played it loads when I was A kid but it can't hold my attention for long now. Brings back good memories though of my childhood.
The was rumours about Planet Harriers getting a release on the Dreamcast some years ago, but that sadly never happened. Check out www.system16.com (http://www.system16.com) for some information on the game:)

It looks awesome!
It looks old :P
Nah, to be honest, if Planet Harriers had come out on Dreamcast, it would've been a waste of time and resources. It probably would've been a better fit on PS2 or Gamecube, looking at the timelines of when the game hit arcades and would've been ready for a home release.

That why it would have been perfect for a release on the Wii today. As the graphics on the Wii are on level with the PS2 and Gamecube. Maybe a compilation of all the Harrier games;)

Can't say I'm a huge fan of Space Harriers 2. I think it's worse than the original. The 32X port of Space Harriers is the way to go.

I've never played the second, but I really liked the first. I usually play it when I'm playing Shenmue on Dreamcast. lol

It was one of the 1st games I ever played all those years ago but I prefer the 1st one but its still a great game.

I fully agree with you there!

How is the 32X version better than the Saturn one?

It's many times easier to emulate :3
I actually forgott about the saturn version. Haven't played it, but I heard it supports the analog controller from the arcade, so it sounds superior.

I just reaped a 32X and the original Space Harrier from amazon.co.uk - So AwEsOmE! I was sort of driven away from SHII as the scaling is so bad; for 3D effects, I went for Super Hang-On.
