This is the coolest home made item i've ever seen.
Here's a link to some more info about how the guy did it and some more pics.

Wow, awesome. Though something like that eats up a lot of juice I'd imagine.

Yeah I bet it does. can't find any mention about the battery life but it cost him $238 to make though.

That's pretty cool, multiplayer must be a bit awkward though.

A-Awesome...
I can imagine this with other consoles.

I read on engadget that the bateries last 3 hours, which is actualy worse than the atari linx which was a total battery whore!

Yeah I noticed that too after I posted. Not particulary great really.
I still want one though. Whats even more amazing is the forum that this is on has loads of other portables people have made. They have Playstations 1/2, N64, Snes. Someones even tried to do an Xbox portable!

I saw an Xbox portable on Google image search once. It was just a standard Xbox with a screen on the top of it and the buttons :P. Try taking that with you on a train ride XD.

Actually I remember being given a link to someone that had converted his 360 into a fully functioning laptop, with internet, all your usual microsoft stuff and the normal 360.

Yeah there's one on that website that's linked up top there. It looks really cool. I genuinely wouldn't know where to begin with things like that. Im more of a gamer than a techy.

I want one! I don't care if it would burn a hole in my desk or my lap. It'd be worth it. ^_^

I respect the skill it took to make that thing, but it looks about as usefull as a chocolate teapot. Trying to hold it in the air constantly, it might build your arms up at least.

I wish I had money to burn. The guy that made this just sold it on ebay for $650. Also sold a portable N64 for $600.

Argh I wish I'd known!! I would have paid that T__T
I actually did this with my Atari 2600 and my N64. Came out pretty well, though it was hell trying to afix the proper connectors/converters to the LCD for the Atari's ancient UHF Connector.

That's cool, I have alot of respect for people that try this sort of thing out as im clueless about it. I never thought about that though with the old connectors I bet that was a pain. I still have an atari 2600 with a stack of games but none of the controllers work now unfortunately.
