Enter Aperture Laboratories
Story:The game starts with our protagonist named Chell waking up in a little room to discover a robot named GLaDOS, who serves as her/your instructor throughout the game. She guide Chell through the test chambers as well as gives her (what is known as) a portal gun. GLaDOS promises Chell that if she gets through all test chambers alive, she will be rewarded with cake. But is it really worth it or is GLaDOS really hiding something?

Now You’re Thinking With Portals!
Gameplay:The game is a first person shooter without the killing. Instead, there is puzzles to solve. You play as Chell, our main heroine of the game. You will guide her through the madness that is Aperture Laboratories. Your main “weapon” is what’s called a Portal Gun. You use this to create a blue and orange portal that you can go through in. Here you can pretty much go where you couldn’t normally reach. And that’s where the puzzle solving comes in to play. Whether it be getting an item somewhere, getting to the other side of a chamber, guiding a little cube to the end of a chamber, or guiding a little beam of energy to unlock a door. It’s a lot of fun and requires a lot of thinking and timing.

Vague and Empty...But Super Cool
Graphics:Graphics here hold up very well to this day. The environment is very claustrophobic, abandoned and empty, making you seem very alone and a little scared to see what comes up next. And that’s what makes this game lovable.

Adds to the Atmosphere
Music:For the most part, there isn’t much of a soundtrack. It’s all just the emptiness of Aperture Laboratories. The game does have a vocal tune, “Still Alive”, sung by GLaDOS herself.
Music is composed by Kelly Bailey.

A Great Puzzle Game?
Overall:Portalis a really good game. A nice mix of dark humor from GLaDOS, mystery behind every corner and much more. It’s a very nice and fun puzzle game, making you wish a Portal Gun was real.
