Do you need to have a license or a permit or anything to own those? Just seems a bit dangerous if anyone could just own a set of throwing knives.

Simple answer? No. Our knife laws in my state are pretty laid back. About the only thing is don't carry a concealed knife in public that's more than 4 inches long, which I wouldn't do anyway because it's impractical as hell.

Swords and nunchucks are perfectly legal here too. There is really nothing wrong, much less dangerous about owning a weapon in the privacy in your own home, unless of course you're insane.
