How did you find and why did you join RadioSEGA?

Post by Shadid »

Same thread before the wipeout, so let's get to it.

[UPDATED 17/03/2013]

Around the time (back in 2008-ish), I was drooling on by brand-spanking-new (at the time, obviously) PSP 2000, it was fresh, new, and I just wanted to do more than just games. Thus, Sony launched with an update, the Internet Radio feature. In context, it was a web browser plugin that allowed the PSP to stream various online radio stations, and it was useful at the time.

So useful that I even listened to it while I was studying back then. One day, on May 22nd (if I recall), during night time, I was bored, so I looked up other radio stations, and thus I found one that was playing something unexpected. It was a radio station, playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Final Boss on Death Egg Zone, it was a thrill to listen to, and slept through many SEGA tracks on that night. 2 days later, after I went to a school-sponsored walk on a valley, I said:

- "Screw it, I'm registering tonight!"

And I said in those words, because I was hesitating the day before, because of fear of not being accepted and such, but I completely ignored that, and registered! All because I loved the music, laughed at some of the pre-registering posts and obviously wanted to request good music!
And to this day, I'm glad I made that decision, if I hadn't I wouldn't have met cool people on this 4-year and 10-month ride. :3
I live here now!

^ I'd echo that, only I found the website and registered the same day.

Certainly doesn't feel like 2 and a half years. Sometimes can't believe that I've gone from being all "OMG SEGA Radio station" to Admin and Show host on the same site. That said, I'm fairly sure SegaMark can't believe it either XD

I was at work and needed some Sega music goodness, but then after the tunes I stayed for the good company. I hardly ever use the internet to socialise but this place is great.

Rayne mentioned it in an MSN convo and it sounded cool, so I joined up.

Gav joined the forum and being all "OMG SEGA Radio station" back then he got me to listen to some stuff, and let's just say I wasn't exactly impressed. Nevertheless I joined the forums and got into the music when the shows started a couple of months back.

Found the link on FastFeet's site, clicked and listened. I then joined when I found out that the listener controls most of the content.

I saw a banner ad in someone's signature on a site (don't remember which; I'm pretty sure it was a forum) and decided to check it out. After listening to the station for a while and liking it, I decided to sign up.

It'll be 2 years for me in October.
