Bumped as it's been a while and had no guesses yet. I'll start pointing people in the right direction.
Clue: Screencap is from another Mac game. It has since been released on other platforms though.

It looks a bit like an early version of Geometry Wars (or something GW might have been inspired on), but I don't know.
Long time lurker and sometimes chief assistant. More the former.

It's not an early Geometry Wars, though now you mention it, they do look fairly similar.
But, the pictured game is 25 years old!

I'll try to push this along…

In recent years this game has been ported to platforms including Xbox Live Arcade, and iOS (which I really don't think works).
And apparently, the developer is based on the Isle of Wight, and has had at least one game published by Sega.

How are those pictures connected to the game Kaito? I've never played this before, it looks like a shameless Robotron ripoff but as that's been taken off XBLA at a push this might be worth getting.
Tic Tac, sir?

I hadn't heard of Robotron before, but having checked videos I can confirm that Crystal Quest has copied a fair amount from it.

CQ was pretty good for its time, and the original version came with a modification tool where you could change the graphics, sound set, enemy frequency and so on.

Anyway, Kaito-kun is right - your turn!

EDIT: Markiegee: You've probably realised this now, but I think your guesses relate to the opening post. I see you are new to the forums here (welcome :) ), but in future, please use the 'Edit' button rather than making a string of posts.
