Blood Stone 007

Post by Reknoc »

So finally at long last a Bond game not made based on a movie. Activision have been wasting the licence since they got it but now they've given Bizzare the chance to do... something:

Graphics look shit but the gameplay seems solid enough. Shame they're going for unlikable thug Bond from the last two movies but whatevs.

Im gonna keep an eye on this. Especially as it's looking more and more likely that the bond games coming out are about as much Bond as we'll be seeing for awhile.

I certainly wont miss the films if they're as bad as the last two. But there was a massive gap between the last Brosnan film and Casino Royale with some pretty sweet games filling up the time (Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, Everything or Nothing) hell Nightfire and Everything or Nothing was better than all of the Brosnan films.

It's just so nice this is an original story and not another game based on an old film that was crap and people only give a shit about it because it had that one good N64 game based on it.

Eh? there's loads of Bond games that aren't based on movies. The Duel, Nightfire, Rogue Agent, Agent Under Fire. There are others.

Either way, the Judas Priest fan in me loves this game already just for the name.

And I really liked the last two movies.

I'm not saying there aren't. I'm saying that since Acti has had the license all we've got is Quantum of Solace, with a game based on Goldeneye coming which made it look like they didn't give a shit about making an original one.

But that's ok I selectively read things aswell.

Ah, a'ight.

Are Activision actually working on Goldeneye? I got the impression that Nintendo made the first move.

It's Wii exclusive but Acti will be the publisher and Eurocom will be the ones to close down when it doesn't sell the billion copies Acti want it to are the developers.

Edit: Just for clarification Bizzare Creations are working on Blood Stone, since I never played The Club I dunno how the shooting will hold up but at least the driving will be hella rad.

Ah, I see.

It's a win win really for Activision. They're just profiting loads 'cause they've got the licence at this time. And Nintendo win 'cause they don't have to buy the rights.

Do you not like Goldeneye then? I get the impression this'll be different enough from the original, if not completely new.

I liked the original game, I didn't care much for the movie (though it was the better Brosnan one). I'm glad they not trying to make it like the original though since Perfect Dark on XBLA showed me that would be a terrible idea. It's apparently going to follow the movie more closely only with Craig as Bond, so it's based on a movie I didn't care for starring a Bond I don't care for.
