The Football/Soccer Thread

Post by Gavvie »

If you're English, chances are you follow football. Hopefully.

If you're not English, chances are you know what soccer is. Hopefully. (It's football, if you don't).

Feel free to discuss this fine sport, no matter your knowledge in the subject, or what tier your team plays at.

The two teams I support are at quite contrasting levels. Man United, Barclays Premier League. Everybody's heard of them, surely.

The second team...my hometown - Grantham Town. Currently mid-table after one game in the Evo-Stick Premier League Division One South, although it's also apparently called the Evo-Stick First Division South, so that's a wee bit confusing.

We play Spalding United tonight! Woo!

Is this the one where grown men get melodramatic and cry and fight over a bunch of inbred overpaid gits kicking a rubber sack around a field?

Oh, this won't die quickly, I'm sure there'll be loads of chatter.

But hey, if you've got better ideas for threads in this forum, let's see them!

I share your cynicism, Kaito-Kun.

But sadly my hubby is a football fan, big supporter of Newcastle United, as the true Geordie fan he is, so I'm sure I'll be keeping up to date with it, whether I want to or not!

I feel like supporting Blackpool though.

I'm sory, but if you don't like football then that instantly demotes you to a lower rank than women.
