Mac vs PC

Post by Kaito-kun »

I think the title says it all. State your preference and why you believe it is superior to the enemy!

Myself? I've always leant towards the PC side of things, not out of a particular dislike of Macs; they're really pretty. It's mainly due to an under-exposure to Apple's alternative.

I prefer PC partly because they are cheaper and can play the games I want.

PC's can be built and upgraded, I don't think Mac's are quite as accessible.

PC

as i said in the other thread reasons why i dislike/cant use macs

A) Most of the apps i use are win specific
B) i cba to get it working on my Vaio
C) i would not want to pay hundreds of pounds just for something that looks nice

also newer macs aren't that bad to upgrade as they're now running on intel based systems (processors and GFX)

PC for me to for the same reasons.
But the truth is i wouldn't mind switching to a mac, the only games i play on the PC are Valve games and The Sims which all run on the mac. Only issues is that it cost way to much

Heh, this is turning one sided..... Personally i prefer the PC because it seems easier to build; all the parts could be acquired easily. Always wanted to build my own :)

Computer fanboyism is silly anyway.

I've used Mac's and also PC's with Linux. Linux was too complicated for me in terms of installing programs, etc, and I didn't 'get' what was so special about Macs. I studied graphics at college where we had to use Macs, as they are apparently better for digital art and designing in general. To be honest, I couldn't really tell the difference between using Photoshop on a Mac and on my normal PC.

That said, I've gone through a lot of PC's over the years. Mac's aren't invincible, they have their own problems too, but I wouldn't mind getting one just to see if they are more stable and would last longer than a standard PC, which I suspect they would. But they're really out of my price range.

Hmm...

I've used both - Macs at System 7.5, PCs (running Windows, and recently Fedora Linux) through the ages.

I wouldn't mind one of each but I can't afford a Mac.

I like both Mac OS and Windows because both have small advantages over the other.
So, I decided to use Bootcamp and run Windows 7 on my iMac... now I'm INVINCIBLE!!! :D

I voted for Mac because Apple have put the rival thing behind them and now officially allow Windows and Microsoft Office to be installed on Mac machines.
