I still live with my family, so mum buys all the food, clothing etc.

Ah okay. I'd still go insane on that amount though, would barely pay for one night out a week.

I kinda want to move into my own place one day and be independent, but...

I don't think mum wants me to leave. She doesn't say it, but it's so obvious.

Is your disability that bad? I was on DA for about a year when I was a teenager due to an illness I had but managed to get over it with some hard work. Was a shit time in my life though. Hope it ain't too bad for you.

Also I was he opposite - my mum wanted me to leave! That was part of my motivation to get better.

Actually, no. I'm quite capable of doing things for myself, but my family doesn't seem to understand that. It's not like I'm in a wheelchair or anything, jeeze! Wasn't going to even mention this, since a friend said it'd be a bad idea to, but what the hell!

I'm diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. I still don't understand how it makes me disabled though...

Interesting: My other half has aspergers too. She makes the most of it though; loves languages and the way her mind works means she picks them up almost instantly.

What sickens me is how some people make out the condition you have (and others) to be a viral disease and....god people are ignorant.

Well, over in this part of the world anyway...and around the people I've seen.

You're referring to that Autism Speaks crap, aren't you?

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about them. They sound like horrible people.

"Oh we can cure Autism and Aspergers! Hurr durr!"

Yeah, because it's totally possible to fix the wiring of one's brain.
