Rayman (Not Rabbids)

Post by Gonic »

So, Rayman had some pretty good games right? One was a classic 2D platformer, 2 was a great 3D action platformer game which was made better by revolutions and that awesome extra 2D level at the end of it, and 3 was well...strange :S but still good ;D. Then the rabbids came along and ubisoft fucked the limbless hero over.

Now we have Origins coming out. What do you guys think? Is this raymans big comeback or has ubisoft offically killed his franchise?

Edit: Also great trailer 'A thingamajig

I actually like Rayman a lot. He is probably one of my top 10 favorite franchises and his games are fun.
I never played Rayman 1. So I don't know how a 2D side scrolling Rayman game would be but I've played both versions of Rayman 2 and Have Rayman 3 on the PS2. It's a quite fun game. I'm happy the Rayman is finally returning but I wished that it was 3D and not 2D. But that's just because I never played the 2D version.

I kinda still don't get the story of Rayman Origins. Is Rayman's story starting from the beginning?

I'll wait and see on how Origins is before declaring the franchise completely dead, but considering Ubisofts general output this gen it's not looking great.

The Rabbids are better than Rayman anyway.

Any opinion you have ever had on this forum has just been obliterated by that one sentence.

I haven't even played a Rabbids game and find them more entertaining than any Rayman game (except maybe Rayman 2)

I think the opposite actually, Rayman was and still is heeps better than Rabbids. Not only does his franchise have a sense of humor, it also has good action and a proper story. While rabbids has mostly humor.
But I still wished Rayman's comeback was in 3D.

Rabbids are good character's I'll agree, they are very amusing, however this does not mean there games are any good, there pretty much just party games. Plus the rayman games themselves were quite funny themselves.

Their, god damn.

Rabbids Go Home is amazing though, the 3DS game should be fun as well.

The Rayman franchise is pretty much one good game sandwiched between a gorgeous but kinda crap platformer and a not as good as it's predecessor sequel.

Don't forget about that weird multiplayer game.
