List in case people haven't seen it:
Green Hill Zone
Chemical Plant Zone
Sky Sanctuary Zone
Speed Highway
City Escape
Seaside Hill
Crisis City
Rooftop Run
Planet Wisp

DLC
Casino Night Zone

So Chemical Plant is gonna be in the game? Awesomesauce!

SA2 gets represented with two levels while the rest gets one? Hmm, interesting (though I'd hoped for Speed Highway to make it in the game :P )

Seaside Hill? Aww I was hoping for Egg Fleet or Ocean Palace...

No complants for Crisis City and Rooftop Run. :)

SA2 has 1 level? Speed Highway is a SA level, you're thinking of RADICAL Highway or whatever it's called.

It's actually a smaller list than I expected.

I think the emulator is kind of a neat idea, it'd be an even neater idea if classic sonic games weren't available pretty much everywhere.

Well it does almost cover every main sonic game. Don't forget that both Sonics have 2 acts and I believe there's also a 5th act.

Seems that the guys at Sonic Retro hacked the demo and found some interesting info.

Here we have Levels and bosses.

And here we have power ups and items you can use

Glad to see the shields are returning, didn't expect power ups from colors to be in and this also confirms Super is in.

The the last two rows are names of characters. Theirs Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Rouge, Espio, Charmy, Vector, and Blaze. Kinda obvious by the colors.

And for music they found a few

Title Screen
a new mix of the menu from Sonic Heroes
Green Hill Classic
Invincible Classic
Green Hill Modern
Green Hill Modern/Boosting
Invincible Modern
Level Clear
Drowning (Under water segments?)
1-Up

What do you guys think?

Wouldn't the drowning be for Chemical Plant? Maybe that's why there isn't another underwater level. I can't remember, but does Seaside Hill have any water either?

I'm personally glad that one of my favourite levels, Sky Sanctuary, made it in. I can sort of imagine what it would look like in 3D as well, maybe like Windy Hill from SA1?

Disappointed that Sonic 3 wasn't kept separate from Knuckles, but as Reknoc says, the board quota has been covered with City Escape and Launch Base is gonna be in the 3DS version.

Oh, and this game is definitely a must have for me. Only other game I'm planning to get in November is Skyrim.

So, an adventure game, 2 sandboxes games (Minecraft and Saints 3) and a RPG with dragons are not as big as Generations. Huh. (Not trashing, your opinion, though, it's preety comprehensive)

And I've been nosing around the leaks and the demo myself. I can say: Sonic feels heavy.

And my 2nd question is: why isn't this Sonic 4.

Seriously, the demo's amazing, the redesign of Green Hill is beautiful and gameplay wise, it's good. Not hyped yet, but until I see what they do with Chemical Plant, then I might grin up.

and at least a Sonic 3/CD level, c'mon.

EDIT:

I'm still hoping they release this game on Steam!

I wonder if they are going to carry on with Sonic 4? With it being billed as episodic I was expecting the other episodes to come out quite close together but I've not heard anything about it since the first came out and that was what 8 months ago?

Wow!

Just finished playing it and I must say I'm VERY impressed :D it's pretty much everything I could want from a modern Sonic game. It looks good, the music is fun and sonic just feels right to control. No crappy physics, no warewolf, just awesome 2D platforming.

As a side note, the 3D effect is really impressive, I can't wait to try a modern Sonic stage with the 3D on.
