It's coming, all we know about it is that it'll have some sort of cross game feature. Which is probably as much as Sakurai knows about it as well.

Hope it's more Melee and less Brawl.

Yea, like I mentioned in the OP it wouldn't surprise me if E3 was the first Sakurai had heard of a new Smash Bros. as well. Wouldn't be the first time it happened.

What's the advantages Melee have over Brawl (besides the stages)?

Hopefully something better than the Subspace embassy, subspace was too repetitive and boring.
