No, Apple isn't going anywhere.

As much as I dislike Apple. He did help with the future of technology and was a great inspiration to some.

Just heard about it on G4tv.com, plus right when the iPhone 4S was announced on Tuesday...not sure if I'm late or is on the matter but rest in piece the innovator of music on the go and a whole lot more.

A shame. And he looked like he was good for another 10 years.

His death was announced today by Apple. He truly was an innovator and it is hard to imagine a world without his contributions.

RIP 1955 - 2011. Gone but not forgotten.

Apple are going to slump now. They won't drop out the game completely, but most of their immense popularity came from Steve Jobs.

I mean, look at the iPhone 4S announcement. Nobody was shouting from the rooftops like they have done with previous iOS product launches.

Much as I hate Apple, and how they blatently take ideas from other companies and package them as their own (and get mass acclaim for it), the loss of a visionary in the computing industry still has to be respected as such.

Besides, he wasn't all bad. He was responsible for Pixar as well... XD

That may be more likely because of the fact that there wasn't much to shout about in regards to the iPhone4S?

Not externally, no. Internally, it's basically an iPad 2 cut down in size.

I would have whacked a new case on it and called it the iPhone 5, myself.
