What does GAME's future hold?

Post by Gonic »

As many of you are aware. GAME the UK supplier have been having stocking problems due to a loss around Christmas last year. (this could be wrongs so feel free to correct me) and now this has happened:

and then this:

So what do you guys think?

Update: Mario Party 9 will not be stocked either.

There was also the Ubisoft games at the Vita launch.

Times are changing. Will another company come and save the day? Grainger Games perhaps? Maybe GameStop will give the idea of UK shops another try? No-one knows. Either way, GAME are on the way out.

Maybe they'll go into receivership and the creditors will sell of the profitable shops to either a rival like gamestop or some venture capitalist company.
Tic Tac, sir?

I think your suggestion is the most likely.

Although there is the off chance that they might bounce back.

Either way, I'd hate to be Ian Shepherd right now.

I hope its bad for them whatever it is

Maybe if they actually sold games at a reasonable price this wouldn't happen, why would people pay £40 for a 3 month old game when super markets were selling it at £27? (Skyrim , Mw3) Hell they were still charging £18 for a used copy of COD MW2 and thats what? 3 years old now

Not to mention now with facebook "sell it in your local area" groups & ebay becoming bigger & bigger allowing people to get about a lot more money for their games/consoles than they would in GAME etc

I can see Gamestation following suit as they're just as bad (aren't they owned by the same company after all)

_____________

I like how Wolverhampton has 2 GAME stores less than 50 meters apart on the same stretch of town, and the one was refurbished just before X-mas aswell
