Changing forum titles?

Post by Retrix »

I thought it worth posting this in public, so that the answer might help any others with a similar query.

My forum title currently reads "Podcast Team Member" but this is now out of date. I can't figure out how to change it, but I'm sure it used to be easy to change it at will in the User Control Panel.

Anyone know how to change it? (Gavvie & Tech Staff: if this feature has been hidden, can it be reinstated?)

Easy done - Press Settings at the top of any page, and then Edit Profile. There's an option to change member title in there.

That's what I thought.
But when I click "Edit Profile", the option to change the member title is no longer there (see screenshot)

EDIT: Ignore the attachment below, it is too small to read.

Huh. Why is that not there for you...I shall investigate!

If anybody else spots that option missing, let me know!

Gavvie has resolved this now, it turned out a flag hadn't been set right for the user group I am in.
Thanks!

Yeah, I'd glossed over it when setting a new usergroup up - hadn't noticed it until today XD

All done, but again - I'll keep this thread open in case somebody else has any issues. If I've done it once, I'll have most likely done it again.

it is a module instead of a regular node, but is there anyway for me to change the name, for example 'My forum'? I suppose I can change its ‘Vocabulary name’, which is titled ‘forum’, will this work? Will this modification cause any internal problems?........
