So, Microsoft announced their new system this evening.

I didn't watch the stream, but I'm sure many of you lot did. Thoughts?

And yes, the name of the new system really is "Xbox One".

Microsoft did a lackluster job. More ENTERTAINMENT than gaming from the reveal. More on sports, TV, no gameplay, more sports and more TV...just ugh...and they ended the damn reveal with another Call of Duty.

And these:

Microsoft...you had ONE JOB

Edit: Sony's stock going up like mad right now wow.

Well, it made me buy a WiiU.

The reveal was terrible, three games were shown, none with gameplay footage. They put too much focus on the 'social' aspects, and I think they alienated the gaming public by doing so.

It just feels like we're being offered a really crap deal from Microsoft: you can have our games as long as we can take over your living room and all your entertainment consumption needs!

Fuck off.

The Kinect is required for the full Xbox One experience.

And other reports saying gamer scores are transferable but not XBLA purchases. Just freaking unbelievable.

I was prepared to forgive a few things that are riling forum people up, like the always online, no second hand crap. But it's going too far. Kinex is shit, no-one cares about their shit multimedia stuff, robbing us for XLA gold yet again and we don;t even get to keep our Xbox live games. They don't give a fuck about games consoles really, just want to push their multimedia stuff, and they certainly ain't hiding it with this crap. I'd put up with this trojan horse product if they gave me a bit more back, but it's like they want to piss you off in every way they can. Even the controller still takes AA batteries FFS!

Like I said on Twitter, Microsoft just alienated the gaming universe with this new console.
