A new game comes out, you want it as youve been waiting for the game for awhile. You order the game at ShopTo because its 24.99 instead of the £34.99 price tag that game has stuck on it. However, it gets announced that GAME will be getting exclusive preorder bonuses like a whole new part to the campaign.
From recent memory, people preorder alien colonial marines and well...look how that turned out :S
This brings me to my question, does this piss you off? Do you think preorders are a good or bad thing? Disscuss (or else >:3 )

The pre-order bonuses has to be worth the price. If they tend to be lackluster and doesn't continue the experience of that particular game, it's money basically wasted.
If I wanted to pre-order a game I'd first make decisions on whether the game itself is good from others or through demos and the like, just enough to consider me pre-ordering it.

Preorder bonuses are fine, in theory, sadly in practice they're nearly always tied down to retailer. Mostly GAME who are overpriced or Zavvi who have the worst delivery.
Still, sometimes it allows for unintentionally funny shit like when Zen take forever to get Persona 4 Arena over here and then somehow think people will appreciate them giving GAME an exclusive preorder bonus.

It's hard to avoid them nowadays. S-E, Tecmo-Koei and NamcoBandai (jesus are all japanese publishers partnered with each other now? lol) especially seem to give all of their games pre-order bonuses. Even Steam and PSN have pre-order bonuses, either in a discounted price or a game for free (usually any sort of predecessor). Nintendo also seem to be a fan of Grainger since I know a couple of their 3DS games have had pre-order bonuses.
