do you think piracy is ok or not ok

Post by aziz »

i live in middle east so movies and tv shows are not available the only way is to wait for them 3 years or wait for DVD so it's ok to pirate them , am not getting arrested or counts as illegal

(i don't pirate sega's games like crazy taxi or sonic's games)

i think it's ok , look at mtv crib they are rich

do you think it's good or bad thing

when PS2 was popular all the games were at local game stores for 2$ , so 95% were burned games or pirated .

I think pirating Movies and TV Shows that aren't marketed to your region is still ethically wrong, but I personally wouldn't fault someone for it. If you really enjoy the show, you're more likely to buy a DVD release or other merchandise anyway. It's just creating additional, potential customers for them that they didn't spend any marketing money to get!

Boo, piracy. Boo.

Unless you're sailing on the Grand Line then I can't support/encourage piracy.

I'm not against it, i'm not for it either. Sometimes when there is a show that will probably never see the light of day in your country than sometimes you have no choice.

It's wrong, but so is the fact that I can get a much better experience for free than I would if I paid for it. There's too much that takes forever to get released here, or doesn't get released here at all, or is only released on DVD when you can easily download it in HD.

I'm not very good at pirating, I dunno the good websites and can't be arsed with viruses, so I pay.

Used to be a bit of shoplifter as a kid, 'til I realised I wasn't very good at that either and was caught a bunch of times. So I pay for things from shops too.

Why does this revelation not surprise me?

It's as bad as the lack of appropriate capitals in your post and thread title.

I used to pirate everything, though Kaito drilled morals into me so now I buy everything instead.

Piracy is something I'm not a fan of cause it can lead to punishment sooner or later. That's why I have a disdain for any bootlegged copies of movies being sold on discs, and trust me it happens all the time in New York.

Also, should this be moved out of the Entertainment section of the forums?

I buy when I can. I'll pirate a game every now and then, but only to demo it if it's lacking a demo version.
