Inafune is going to be heading this game, made with notable figures who made the MM series itself.

Yup, looks like one big middle finger to Capcom.

I'm always initially sceptical of anything to do with Kickstarted and I don't get as exited as the rest of the internet whenever Inafune is mentioned - he seems like a man who is angry at too many things - but hey, best of luck with them and this project.

I'm conflicted, on one hand Inafune has clearly lost his marbles, but on the other Capcom no longer give a shit about Megaman and I'd definitely want one, even if its just a spiritual successor.

Has inafune actually released anything since leaving Capcom? I mean, he's announced several projects, but no releases spring to mind.

He worked on Soul Sacrifice on the Vita, which was actually a surprisingly good game. He also worked on the Guild02 game Bugs v Tanks.

Ah, didn't realise that.

Never heard of the game nor the studio.

The guild games were a project by Level-5 to bring in different Japanese developers to make small games for the 3DS.

Right now the Kickstarter is over $640,000; and it hasn't even been a full 24 hours yet. At this rate its goal can very well be met over the next several hours or day. Shows how a majority wants to see this succeed.

The art style is really charming; that's what drawn me into it.

Maybe if this is successful enough, capcom may actually release another Megaman game. I'm glad to see Inafune doing something about the franchise capcom wouldn't let him have

Better an spiritual successor than nothing.

It sounds promising. Just knowing that the team is composed of notable members of past Mega Man games gives me hope that the result will be great.

Perhaps Capcom would do something with the franchise afterall if this becomes a direct competition of Megaman.
I can't imagine it though.
