Heavy metal meets medieval. How metal is that? Welcome to Brutal Legend, a rockin’ good time!Game: Brütal Legend
Systems: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux

The Rock and Roll Picture Show
Story: Our story today is of Eddie Riggs (voiced by Jack Black himself), a roadie for the “worst heavy metal band” Kabbage Boy. While the band is performing, Eddie notices the stage falling apart. Eddie runs out and tries to save the band but ends up getting crushed with his blood spilling a little on his belt buckle. He then somehow gets magically transported to a medieval looking world. Upon there he meets a girl named Ophelia and her friends Lars and Lita. Their world is being ruined by General Lionwhyte. And the three create an army called Ironheade to run him out for good.
Slash and Crash
Gameplay: The game is a hack-and-slash and with Real Time Strategy. The game is also open world with side missions and main missions. The core gameplay is hack-and-slash. Eddie can use his guitar as an axe and shock people by playing it. Eddie can also get a group of metalheads and make an army to attack. Also, Eddie can drive around the open world in a car called the Deuce. Need to upgrade your car? You can upgrade your car with Ozzy Osbourne (yes he does cameo in the game with his voice). He’ll upgrade your car and give you advice.
Some people say that the gameplay isn’t that fun annnnd I kind of agree on it. The gameplay can get repetitive after a while and a bit bland. It isn’t bad but it can get a little tiresome after a while.
Cool and Semi-Detailed
Graphics: For an early-ish PS3 and 360 title, this looks pretty good. Though it has a few flaws here and there, it doesn’t get in the way of the game.
Heavy Metal All The Way!
Music: This is the core of the game. The game is chock full of heavy metal music from bands and people like Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Tenacious D, Mötley Crüe, and more. Not only is there heavy metal music but there is an actual soundtrack in the background of some areas.
Music is composed by Peter McConnell.
A Rockin’ Good Time?
Overall: Brütal Legend is a pretty good game. The humor is good, the music is great and the gameplay can be pretty good at times. The only thing is that this game pretty much appeals to metal fans. If you’re not that much of a metal fan, then the charm of the game isn’t there. Nonetheless, a good game.
