Listening to Radio Sega through a Nintendo DS or 3DS

Post by Buta »

Hi support peeps!

I tried a forum search for an answer to this but nothing came up...

I was just wondering if anyone managed to get Radio Sega to play through their DSi or 3DS?

I just tried this morning through my 3DS and the browser gets stuck on the page that says:

"Loading JW Player, if this message doesn't go away, please refresh"

Refreshing doesn't seem to do anything though. :(
I have also tried the other options provided on the listening page but they don't seem to work either.

Thanks in advance. :)

Edit: Removed Nintendo DS/Lite options because I can no longer connect my Lite to the internet, lol.

The web player is a flash player based one. DS or 3DS does not support it as far as I know.
The please refresh message is displayed as a "fallback" in case it can't load the flash player object.
If there is no app that plays internet radio on the nintendo console, then I doubt you can get it to work.
I do not have any DS or 3DS so I can't really test it.
I think the only nintendo console that can work with it is the Wii (original one).

Best option is just to use Tune In app if you own a Android or IOS device. 3DS can't do audio streaming of live radios.... one would imagine that the PS Vita is more capable of it if someone added an app support for it.

Yeah, and the Vita actually has a TuneIn Radio app so it would be a better choice.

I agree, it would be more ideal to use the phone for listening while moving around away from the computer, but I was looking for an alternative to my smart phone.

Fair enough if it doesn't work though. There is no flash support on a 3DS console still I don't think which may be the root of the problem if the webplayer is flash based.

Thanks for answering my query though. I will have a think about what other options I might have.

Edit: Sorry, just to add, I have a Lite and a 3DS. I looked on the shop for a radio app on the 3DS and there does not seem to be one available. I won't be buying a PS Vita solely for this but I'm sure others who already own one will find the idea helpful.

It might work with an HTML5 based player, if the 3DS web browser supports it (it has a web browser, right?).
But we can't have an html5 player the way the radio is setup at the moment.
It will be done in the future

Unfortunately, N3DS specs webpage says no :(
Supported Web Standard

HTML 4.01/XHTML 1.1/CSS 1/CSS 2.1/CSS 3 (partial functionality)/DOM Levels 1-3/ECMAScript
/XMLHttpRequest/Canvas Element (partial functionality)

http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/internetbrowser/specs/
Unlike the WiiU page, audio isn't even mentioned.

Thanks so much for looking into it even if the chances are slim. Appreciate it. :)
