What's your stance on SEGA?

I'm not so sure about that, releases like Yakuza 5 and Project Diva / Mirai show they're at least occasionally willing to take a risk. SEGA Japan play it pretty safe in comparison; a lot of pandering games (Miku, PSO2, Shining) and Yakuza which is a popular series with very minimal changes between each iteration.

Makes me wonder if SEGA West is, dare I say, jealous of SEGA Japan in this day and age?

Why would they be jealous? To me, both branches are so divided down the middle in how their business is run with a FEW exceptions I wouldn't even give it a second thought.

I'd say that they're so divided, you can't even consider them the same company at this point.
