Game Review - Dead or Alive 5

Post by kadosho »

DOA5 (multiconsole)
Published by Tecmo / Koei
Developer: Team Ninja

The beginning - Short and sweet, DOA has long been a fighting game that challenged the norm. Since it began, it rivaled 3D fighters, including Sega's Virtua Fighter series. Who would have thought years later they would cross over?! DOA has been a balanced game, depending on players with skill. It would still keep testing us to make it through the journey. With breathtaking action scenes, bizarre storylines, and some very risque character outfits (and tons of ninjas!)

Style - DOA is played with a unique button config. Which can be changed, by choice. But it does rely on precise button moves. Even though it is a simple setup, it is difficult to master. With a variety of fighting styles at every turn.

Arcade pure and simple - Although arcade cabinets may be long gone here in the states. Fighter like DOA thrive off of their diverse fanbase. Sadly DOA5 has been bitten by the dreaded DLC bug. It does offer a variety of extra attire for your favorite characters. But it severely limits how much you can unlock through various playthroughs.

Note: Original DOA5 is treated as a open game, DOA5U is a revamped version of the game. So if you buy DOA5 Last Round (this will utilize your game save from DOA5U.
