Kung Fury

Post by Midwinter »

Anyone seen this short and liked it? It is currently available on Netflix in the USA.

I grew up in the 80's so it was a ton of fun in my opinion. I showed it to my brother in law who is quite a bit younger and he wasn't as impressed.

Looking forward to the feature length film if/when it gets started.

Haven't seen it, but I've heard its absolutely hilarious. It was just funded by the producer and he had little to no crew for it, so he made it short. Kinda interesting, eh?
Collection; Neo Geo CD, JVC X'Eye, Model 1 Genesis, Model 2 Genesis, 2 Japanese Saturns, 2 Game Gears in a few thousand pieces, 5 or 8 PS1s (don't judge), 1 PS1 DTL (TOOL, NOT a Yaroze), 1 Gamecube, 1 Wii, 1 Xbox 360, 2 Gameboy Advances, 1 3DS, 1 PS2 TEST that WORKS!!!

Do I have a console addiction?

Yeah - it is a pretty impressive short for one guy basically producing it. It is really funny if you are a fan of 80's pop culture.

It was eh. I get why people would like it, but I've seen it all before. I think it made me laugh once. If you're into that sort of stuff, then great! But for me it just didn't work.

I was a fan. I feel like it was just the right length, as near the end I was getting a bit fatigued by the nostalgia references. Makes me wonder how they would pull of a feature length film and keep it fresh.

My favourite thing about the film has to be the single from it. I actually think its a pretty good song, all things considered!

As mentioned during tonight's The Manic Monday Show, here's the Soundcloud page of the main composer for the film, mitch murder.
