    Md Sega knock off consoles

    Hello all!
Would like to ask everyone's opinion on different Sega knock offs and emulator consoles to play megadrive. By that I mean ATgames, Wii homebrew, blaze Tab etc

I personally have read bad things about every ATgames release ( shame as they do look good ) and recently discovered a awful looking Chinese knock off handheld named PXP3 that looks like a PSP and is a portable megadrive. Not only that, though the sound is off tune it's apparently still better than the competition. And only 12!??!

Thoughts anyone? I wouldn't love to know your experiences with any of these and which you prefer, even the ones I've not listed.

The only Sega knockoff console I've heard of is the Mega Drive X.

It is a Mega Drive clone by Russian company Simba. The console has the same design as the Sega genesis 3, but is white and made out of cheap plastic.

The Mega Drive X does play actual carts though, and has two built in switches that allows you to change the language in games from Japanese to English and another switch that changes the video output from 50hz and 60hz.

I would say that for a bootleg it has some pretty intresting features.

Personally I much prefer the original Mega Drive to any knockoff as there is less of a chance of anything going wrong with it and they have much better sound quality ect.

(Also here, obvious by the lack of "SEGA" on the ASICs)

It might be that they are worried about copyright infringement, unlike Dendy and Simba who copy the actual megadrive designs.

Some great news! I had emailed ATgames telling them how the their megadrives would be great if only they'd fix the awful sound. Well I've just received an email back from them and they said this..

[Thank you for your email and feedback. We actually do have a fix in place for the 2017 models to have the sound corrected.

As for modeling the actual systems to look like the originals-- That is up to SEGA and not us... Since we started working with them they have not allowed us to do this. Hopefully with the success of the NES Mini they will change their minds]

    Fixing the sound finally!
