Not sure why baraka6 didn't mention this but Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is also excellent. Oh and if you would like to have your ass handed to you, give Shadow Dancer a whirl. Awesome game.

Thats a LOT of games...

What I was after tho, was your personal faves, the games you guys like and think I would too.

Another question is this: For the RPG's to save games, were there batteries in the carts? Do they peg out after a while or are they charged by the MD?

good question, im not 100% but i dont think sonic 3 had a battery for save files, i think they used mem chips because they could spare a few K for memory space.

Then again i cant be sure any megadrive carts had batterys, although ill stick my neck out and say no so dont worry

Some had batteries and some had flash memory. I suggest you research whatever RPG you get before buying it to be sure. Either that, or buy yourself an Everdrive cart for the games that require game saves.

An RPG - Shining Force II, my favourite of the series
A Shooter - Gunstars Heroes, frenetic action
A Platformer - Fantasia (from the Movie of same tittle). The OST is awesome.
