Thanks all. I am trying to keep the painting have some energy but also be pretty calm. So Sonic isn't really running that fast to have a speed effect and plus I think that would be hard for me to do. If I was doing this in photoshop, then I might have done that, haha. I mainly wanted to focus on the classic trio for this painting so that's why I don't want extra characters or enemies. I've never been fond of any badniks. Though I did consider adding in the robot fish in the water, but I'm not sure about that. And BSF, if you look closely at the left, there are two spiky flowers. But I might make them less spiky to be a little more organic. As for the trees, not this time. I wanted a feeling of more openness.

My latest update while listening to the whole Sonic Colors soundtrack. Man I'm tired. This is why I don't normally do this stuff. Even though it's fun and I'm good at it, work is still work. Especially since I'm not used to painting.

Colors are not completely accurate. And I forgot about the robot fish...hmm.

Is this acrylic paint on a sketch pad? Just wondering. If it is, I suggest you get some canvas to paint on. You'll have a much easier time that way. Having that said, it is indeed coming along pretty nicely. Kinda dark though.

Nice background. Like the colours and the water reflection. Though a waterfall or something would have made the background a little bit less empty.
Great job though.

Yes, it's a mix of Acrylic and Gouache paint on 18" x 24" bristol paper (previously wet). I just use what I have. Gouache is a thick kind of paint that appears darker when it dries. It's pretty nifty for making solid colors though. And the image is actually a little lighter than it appears here.
