It was alright wasn't it. Not earth shattering, but good nonetheless, very watchable. I drop in and out of Dr Who, not a die hard fan by any means, but I do feel on the whole that Dr Who is in the best place it's been for some time in terms of production value, writing and acting.

My thoughts: I was hoping for Matt to get a better finale but I feel it was good. Not extraordinary but it did the job. I have to agree with Kaito on this. The whole thing felt like Moffat trying to tie loose ends but it worked ok in the end. The ending got a bit emotional as well, but not Russell T. Davies emotional, which is good I guess.
As for the rest, bring on Capaldi! I feel this is a refreshing move to bring this guy as the next Doctor.

Doctor Who, Doctor Who, Doctor Who, Doctor Who, Doctor Who!
Hello again everyone!... I'm the Doctor.. xD
So, that Christmas special! Better than most specials, however it felt like the Moff was finding any line to try and patch up Matts story arc. We have been wondering who blew up the TARDIS for series then we get the answer in a few words which many people might of missed.
I also felt that the regeneration was a bit too sudden to build up any emotion for me, however I did find Capaldi's first lines quite humorous!
Can't think of anything else to write right now except for.... I'M BACK BABY!

If you're a fan of time travelling British sci-fi, then yes. The tone can vary between serieses, Doctors, and writers though, so I'd recommend trying a very different stories from different times in the franchise before making your own judgements about the franchise.
