I think Americans are secretly well obsessed with tea. There's been loads of people talking about burgers in that other food topic - the stereotypical thing for them to talk about - and no-one bats an eyelid. One mention of tea and we're all english dandy stereotypes!
Iced tea kinda makes me laugh. Trust the americans to find a way to turn a delicate, refined beverage into a soda with about 15 spoons of sugar in it. It ain't too bad though in fairness.

TWINNY LOL OMG. You just made my day. I just laughed so hard you have no idea...
Every nationality has their own silly stereotype, and ALL of them have a hint of truth in them. Scottish with kilts, irish are drunks, americans love burgers and fries, english people love tea. We ALL think they're silly, too. Stereotypes are, typically, silly....so yes, I find english people talking about tea to be very silly indeed :x
But we also don't always drink sweet tea, tyvm. I drink a lot of tea that ISN'T sugared to hell, As for iced, what's wrong with putting ice iin your tea?

I like everything cold, actually, Including my coffee. Iced coffee is THE SHIT, DAWG.

Iced tea as a soda? Because it's in a can? Like this?

Sadly mistaken there. This "soda" also comes in
this,
this and
this. Iced tea can't be qualified as a soda as it isn't carbonated.

Heard my name mentioned here.
Tea and burgers sounds good.
Anyway, had to go to school to pick up my yearbook and senior brunch (oh look more food talk!). It was all Italian food, with Garlic Knots, lasagna, ziti and this type of pasta with broccoli and mushrooms and this olive oil sauce. Oh and fried squid. It was good. Then we had to pick out the shoes we are wearing to graduation. We are going to actually go graduation shopping tomorrow so yeah.
Oh yeah we American love our burgers. Pretty sure we see burger joints just as much as the tea shops/cafes there.

Garlic knots, I love those.

Lasagna's cool too but I'd rather have a stromboli >>

I wasn't trying to be specific, soda can mean any kids drink really over here, I was just pointing out how you basically managed to turn it into junk food before people started drinking it.
