Your games have to sell well to be cash-cows. Maybe SEGA take a reasonable chunk from those Mario games they make.

Damn you Mario.......

Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and 2006 sold at least a million copies here each (debately) in the United States dispite their poor quality. So I believe Sonic fits that cash-cow moniker for me, so yeah, they sold well enough.

This whole past decade there were times that Sonic franchise could/would have died off, but the fans paid for their games and kept it rolling. That's how I see it.

Just because something sold well over 6 years ago doesn't mean it's a cash-cow now. Do you also think instrument games are cash-cows now?

Ohohoho, my my what have I done? Look, I see that you are probably growing annoyed by me constantly fighting your arguments and getting nowhere with them.

Honestly, instrument games were that, but failed horribly and now look at them. Done, over, kaput.

And saying that something sold well over six years ago is refering to what now? Sonic, blah.

Please, everytime...going to keep proving that I'm wrong to make me agree with you are you?

Not really.

Right and the key word here is were. Though maybe the comparison is unfair because the genre is now dead, whereas Sonic is still mostly alive.

I don't even know what this is supposed to mean.

6 years is a long time, a lot has changed since those games. We're at the end at the current generation 2/3 of the games you mentioned were last gen. Games cost more now, studios grow bigger, it's harder to sustain something with poor sales. Again, I realise the rhythm game comparison wasn't quite right. Sonic isn't dead, it still has a following, but it's not exactly lighting up any charts. Hardly a cash cow, in fact the only chart the last Sonic game came in was quite low in the EU sales chart.

I don't care if you agree with me, just so long as you know you're wrong :)

Ha, fair enough on that one.

Exactly what I was getting that, just was interpreted wrong on both sides. No harm, no foul.

Got that, but basing this on EU sales charts? I figured this would have been both EU and US markets we were going on about......

Ohoho.....you'll want that. :D

Shame most of the time you may not get that from me, based on comparing things from your perspective. And besides, I'm a hard-headed person. :P

How about some Sonic 4 Episode 69 hurdur

I am doing, sadly. Of all 3 markets the EU was the only one where Generations charted high enough to show up.

Ah, I see....well then that would be the most reasonable info to look up regarding Sonic games these days.

Feeling giddy for no reason............off topic.

You mean Sonic Advance 3? It was a frustrating gimmick even when I was 12.
