they don't call it Nintendo kart though either, maybe they're just following the mario branding pattern a bit more.

Nah, Super Smash Bros. is the only main Nintendo cross-over title. unless you count things like Warioware with it's little cameos.

Oh yeah, although it's still only Mario characters from Nintendo. The rest are Squeenix's Dragon Quest characters.
