Black Ops came out last year. CoD and sports franchises (FIFA, Madden, etc) are yearly franchises.

Capcom's "updating" time always was in between 6 and 12 months. 9 months is actually quite solidly in the center. I remember there being at least one updated versions of a game with 7 months distance, I'm pretty sure it was one of the Alpha games.

They made an Alpha 2 'Gold' version quite soon after the first, but they didn't officially release it in Europe until about a year later as part of a Street Fighter 2 compilation.

Yeah had a random thought most ppl probs wont care much for this game. Marvels nuts ( like me) will be more interested in spider man edge of time and xmen destiny, others will be more interested in modern warfare 3 and sonic generations. Novembers gonna be busy for most gamers ( more games to be listed) capcoms releasing a game thats just out when the market is gonna be swollen. And to people using call of duty, black ops and mw3 r going to b completely different games, clue is ones in the 1960s, the other the 2020s. Not the same game with more characters

I preordered UMvC3 yesterday, ShopTo are selling it for £22.85.

Still not totally with the idea of what they're doing, but when it's just over £20 I don't think you can complain too much. RRP seems to be £30, which seems to be in line with most "budget" price points these days.

Alright, there are release dates confirmed:

November 15th for the US, and November 25th for Europe, not sure about the Japan release.

And if you're in the US, you have 3 pre-order choices for 3 different costume packs.

right lookin at the character list and a certain out of place raccoon is still a weird choice, they could have picked someone else with a similar move set, i can think of three right of the bat, Fury, Black Widow, Punisher

Well, picking up an interview on ScrewAttack, Seth Killian actually gives a good reason why Rocket Raccoon is in there.

Also, talking about characters, Hiryu looks badass and seems to play like a badass in UMvC3.
The only downside is his health.
