I think I may be wrong but usually, SEGA works on 2 Sonic games at a time. The 2 Sonic games at the moment are SaSAR Transformed and Sonic 2 so I don't see another Sonic game being announced until at least one of these is done.

Sonic 4 - 2 is out now though. Besides it's made by Dimps and Transformed is made by Sumo so Sonic Team have to be working on something.

I suppose as a backup plan it wouldn't hurt...

Seems like SEGA are going to be publishing Double Fine's (Psychonauts, Stacking, Tranched) game by Ron Gilbert (Monkey Island). I'm super excited to hear more about this game, but I'm not gonna lie, this is a disastrous developer/publisher combo.

Great, I wasn't the only one going WTF at this combination, but hell, let's see what happens.

SEGA News Roundup: May 29th - June 9th

  • First up, Sonic Team themselves has given Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit their blessing! Look's like they're giving their approval of a crazy bare-boned undead rabbit raising hell, in hell!
  • Vocaloid mega-star Hatsune Miku is getting two different game appearences for her fans! These are in the form of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater Extend, with DIVA F for the PS3 and PS Vita and D.E. Extend for the PS Vita only!
  • Lots of Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed news, pre and during E3 2012! The first of the two has Sumo Digital speaking to SEGA about new characters, tracks, and explaining the focus of "Transformations" to both vehicles and race tracks!
  • The second of the Transformed news comes in the form of what was (and still is) a bizzare announcement in that former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will be a unlockable, playable character in the game. Don't worry, she'll be an extra, not a replacement!
  • Get ready to travel back to Tokyo-to as the new HD-coated re-release of SEGA Dreamcast's Jet Set Radio will be hitting the airwaves with 99.99% of its music intact, including exclusives only found in both U.S. and the UK archives added to the mix!
  • If you're hoping to get Ridge Racer for the PS Vita by any chance, may we suggest obtaining special Daytona USA DLC for the game as well? Comes with the Hornet and a special Daytona track! Go on!
  • Get your fighting chops ready, because you're going to need them for the release of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, as it is now available worldwide right now on PSN and XBLA! But for Playstation Plus subscribers you can get the gamefor free (only for a month)! How about that, huh?
  • It's a movie that all video game lovers should enjoy as Disney/Pixar's newest summer flick Wreck-It Ralph has a new trailer, and for the SEGA crowd how about seeing some fat scientists and zombies and the like?
  • Shifting back to E3 for a moment, there's more Hell Yeah-ing to go around, as the game was awarded for "Best Download" and "Best of Indies" by Destructoid! Good job Arkedo Studio!
  • In more E3 recap, it appears Miku was spotted at the event after all! Under Sony's booth, Project Diva F was showcased as a demo to the crowd! It's too bad it'll never get a Western release....
  • And lastly, for those with iOS devices, you can nab the bloody (as heck) tower-defense title Alexandria Bloodshow right now! Plus there's a discount going on right now, so get to it!
I might start recaping the news on here too, if that's okay with you all.

We all knew this day was coming, as soon as SEGA pulled the plug on Chromehounds. Still, surprised it took this long, guess they don't want to maintain PSU servers with PSO2 around the corner.
