You can still try Alien Swarm, it also runs on the new version of Source AND it's free.
Reknoc wrote:Mmhm so they're not compatible? Shame. Thought they might be since they synced achievements.
Yep, that's the only thing about it, felt disappointed 'bout it too.

Just finished the Co-Op mode in Portal 2. Lots of fun. Still willing to do it with you guys if ya still up for it, trying to get some achievements from the game.

^Nice
I really want to replay Half-Life 2 to see the connections between Aperture Science and Black Mesa. Both companies are mention in a few parts in both games.

Theirs an achievement in Portal 2 for finding a drydock with no ship, but you see a few life preservers with the name of the ship, the "Borealis". I completely forgot that it was in Half Life 2.

So I guess I've had enough time to think about this and multiple attempts at co-op ending in just being bored I'm gonna throw down some thoughts on Portal 2.
Portal was a short game that came in an amazing bundle at a reasonable price. It was released stand-alone as a budget download game. Portal 2 is a longer game at full price.
The problem here is that Portal 2's puzzles were not as good as Portal's and some parts weren't even puzzles, just pointless traversal. I hate to say it but I do wonder if this was a conscious decision by Valve because of the console version wasn't just going to be a quick port job this time. The original had quite a few that required quick reactions while being launched by portals. Also for me by the time I was at the underground lab the game was already outstaying it's welcome. I was bored but was soldiering on for the amazing writing.
Speaking of the amazing writing, it's both Portal's greatest asset but also its worst. There are a lot of good lines in Portal 2, indeed I'd say the writing (and graphics) are the only actual improvement from Portal 1. However just like Portal 1 mouthbreathing morons quickly latched onto one thing and thought it'd be hilarious to run it into the ground.
It took a week for Portal 2's meme to be run into the ground, that has to be some kind of record.

This.
It's a cracking game, but...

...please, please stop saying "Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace" and saying how brilliant the turret opera was.
It wasn't brilliant.
Nice, but not worth mentioning.
