They could have just said that about Sonic & Knuckles.

I don't get why they went out of their way to retcon sonic CD to take place after sonic 3. Not like any one gives a shit about sonic timeline.

No normal person cares about the Zelda timeline. Even though it's a little more acceptable since zelda has more of a story focus.

If someone is playing a Sonic for its story line, they probably have bedtime of 8pm And/Or sleep in a padded room

If nobody really cared about Sonic Story than nobody should have made a big fuss about Sonic 06's Story. But they all did, didn't they?
But I don't get it, are they saying that Sonic CD happened before Sonic 4 and after Sonic & Knuckles? And what about the Wii Shop channel?

You can't avoid Sonic 06's story as it is constantly in your face.

Well we all know I'm not normal.
What's interesting about the Zelda timeline is that because there is no definite timeline it's mostly debatable - aside from obvious exceptions such as Majora's Mask following on from Ocarina of Time and Phantom Hourglass following on from Wind Waker.

speaking of time lines and game stories, I must say that Metroid has probably one of the strangest time lines I've seen. Usually, when a new game of the franchise appears, it happens after the previous game but Metroid's games happen all in different times.
