Second of all, Sony DO NOT store the 3 digit CVC security code, meaning you physically cannot make any charges against the cards even if they could read the details.

Thirdly, they haven't even confirmed the details were stolen in the first place!!!

Jeez, some people.

Not true, i've located the file on my HDD and it is indeed in plain text format, also reverse engineering (Proof it works as its possible to hijack PSN store items & game servers etc etc, also charles could sniff the connection (along with the details that were being "transmitted securely") & it didn't moan about it being encrypted) proves it was unencrypted and easily modifiable to make the card number 0000-0000-0000-0000, and make the system flag it as a valid card

edit: If no card details were stolen then A) Why would they say check bank accounts and B) Why are some people on the PS forums complaining & showing statements with purchases made in other countries after the 20th hmmm (threads have mysteriously vanished |: )

Finally, what comes just days after a massive layoff, Nikkei reports (via JoyStiq.com) that SOE has lost 12,700 customer credit card numbers as the result of the attack.

The company apparently took SOE servers offline after learning of the attack last evening, but has yet to issue a statement confirming that customer information has been lost.

Of the 12,700 total, 4,300 are alleged to be from Japan, while the remainder's origins are unknown.
