It's a shame Gainax is pretty much an empty shell at this point, with the only thing they have going at the moment will be a shounen jump adaption that'll either have; a anime only ending, a sudden ending, or will keep going until it eventually kills them.

Is it true they've put fan service in now?

Depends on what you mean by fanservice. Fujiko gets naked quite a bit, but it fits in with the style of being a sexy spy style thriller. Fujiko getting her tits out isn't anything new though.

Hmm, yeah.
Sounds like it fits in rather than just being put in for no real reason.

*sniff* So I finally finished watching Gurren Lagann. This Anime... it was truly an anime I will always remember. So much awesomeness...
Yet, I wished some things wouldn't have happened.
Click to reveal
I hated all the sacrifices. I couldn't believe some of the people that actually died. Especially Nia. C'mon not Nia... I was a bit sad seeing Simon go off to become a nobody in that 20 years later epilogue after the credits.
Something which I found weird though in the final battle was how they were fighting on Galaxies. I mean c'mon... to use galaxies as shurikens... That's just weird. Can you really even stand on galaxies? Or climb on them?
But yes, I guess it's because of all these that made Gurren Lagann so awesome...
Ya know? I hate good anime like this. They are so good, that you end up feeling sad when you finish them. You want more but there is no more. And finding something similar to that still ruins the story and beauty. And that's IF you find something similar to that. I highly doubt I'll ever find an anime that would be similar to Gurren lagann in the aspects of fanservice, story, drama, romance. *sigh*
The same happened to me when I finished Katawa Shoujo[Yes, I actually did play it and finish it. I just didn't tell you all before but I loved it.]. At this time, you would wish that these sort of animes were like One Piece which never really finish. They just keep on going. But I guess if that would happen, it wouldn't be that good anymore.
*sigh* Ah well. Guess it's time for my next anime. High School of the Dead. I've heard the anime's alright too. And I'm rather curious of the fan service...

If you love fanservice, you like Highschool of the Dead. If you're not bothered about fanservice like me, there's still a good chance that person can enjoy it. I liked it's fights and it's characters.

It's just a shame the pace of the anime is so poor..
It also ends in a really weird place.
I never did watch the OVAs, must do that sometime.

It feels like I'm the only person on the internet who saw the premise of Highschool of the Dead (Zombies and fanservice) and thought "Well that looks terrible."
