The laptop is also wireless.Reknoc wrote:You have a laptop though right? Might try connecting my PS3 to my laptop to see if that works later.
The router is on the other side of the house from the PS3.Gonic wrote:You have a 360 right? Didnt that come with a ethernet cable?
The ethernet cable goes from the PS3 to the Laptop.Kaito-kun wrote:The router is on the other side of the house from the PS3.
So you're saying that as long as the PS3 has an Ethernet cable connected to something then it won't matter if the device it's connected to is using a wireless connection or not?Reknoc wrote:The ethernet cable goes from the PS3 to the Laptop.
I believe so. I haven't tried it yet (waiting for the firmware update to download) but it's what I used on my 360 before I bought a wifi adapter and it treated it like a wired connection.Kaito-kun wrote:So you're saying that as long as the PS3 has an Ethernet cable connected to something then it won't matter if the device it's connected to is using a wireless connection or not?
Makes sense, so it's basically ICS?Reknoc wrote:I believe so. I haven't tried it yet (waiting for the firmware update to download) but it's what I used on my 360 before I bought a wifi adapter and it treated it like a wired connection.
The only reason the PS3 needs to be wired is because it's using its wifi for connecting to the PSP.
