Reknoc wrote:Yea Dragon Age Origins is basically a fantasy version of KotOR and not the spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate it claimed to be. Console version is kinda bad though compared to KotOR.
Tempted to try it but I absolutely hate that whole Dungeons and Dragons thing. Never really liked the traditional fantasy settings.
Continuing my Xbox binge I decided to play Star Wars Republic Commando. Hmm. Obviously it feels kind of archaic compared to modern day shooters, though that's not always a bad thing (IT HAS HEALTH BARS, GOD YES!!!).
My only moans are that your guns feel like they do as much damage as a water pistol (you can be shooting the same enemy for hours until they actually die) and this stupid timed section I'm stuck on. Ugh, I need more than 5 minutes to make it out of a space station alive..
Will try again tonight and more than likely give up. Next on the list, Jade Empire Limited Edition. Or BloodRayne 2. Hmm..

For as much as they bigged up the world it is generic Lord of the Rings fantasy as fuck, even D&D is better. Uses more or less the same D20 system as KotOR though.
To be fair if you want more KotOR just get the sequal, other than the missing end it's the better one out of the two.

Still the best squad based FPS. Visor details are so good.

Still on Republic Commando, it is a very good shooter. The difficulty level is really challenging too (maybe I'm just a pussy because I'm so used to regenerating health). Halfway through the second campaign and enjoying it.
Started a new game on Jade Empire today as well. Absolutely cracking game, going to play through this one being as utterly evil as possible.
Last but not least, gave Red Dead Redemption another go with a new file. Will try to stick with it this time

Finished Splatterhouse yesterday. Was a pretty solid mash em up. The saving grace though was Jim cummings, the VA for the mask. He's funny as fuck in it.Just started Dead rising 2 at the minute and loving it.

Xbox version? Maybe you should try a new hobby for the load times.
Jade Empire is when I realised I don't care much for Bioware.

Dragon Age, okay. Cheers for the advice, if I see it in one of those CEX shops I'll try to remember your kind words.
Pink Sweets appeared and raped me repeatedly. Probably the hardest shmup I've ever played. Graphics and music are really nice at least. Haven't played the other game on the disc that much: the game where you're a mutant pig-girl on a hover bike.

As for the real games, it's a side-one with
Super Street Fighter IV and
Bayonetta again. 8D
