I knew that link was gonna be P4Gaming before I even hovered over it. It's a joke site by the way.

It was likely the straw that broke the camels back. It's a shame, he did once upon a time change up EA for the better, earlier this gen they were almost respectable due to the things they tried. Then because the gaming industry is a piece of shit and they found out releasing good interesting games didn't pay the bills they went back to being crappy.

I'd agree. The SimCity debacle was so easily avoidable (don't force single players to play online), that it's actually even more ridiculous that, in the light of the game getting terrible reviews because of it, EA are still sticking to their guns with it.

No, I think what was worse was the whole "micro transactions in everything" issue that started with Dead Space 3, which I personally have no problem with. If you want to go and spend £50 on a game, and then another £XX to unlock stuff quicker because you can't be arsed to wait/play the game properly, then go right ahead.

I'm happy with what EA tried to do this gen - they realised that licensed games weren't doing them much good (Hi The Simpsons Game, Godfather II), and went about trying to create & support new game IPs. Some worked, and sold craploads (Dead Space), others didn't work and yet still sold craploads (Army of Two), and then there were some that were decent games that just didn't sell (Kingdoms of Amalur). EA clearly anchor their year on the likes of Madden, Tiger Woods & FIFA to be able to go out and try new things.

It's actually something I wish Acti would do - anchor the business on Call of Duty/Skylanders, so you know you can pull the money in, and then take more risks with the games that you release the other 11 months of the year. Support new IP, hell, FUND them, and just see where it takes you. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they did.

Well I don't see Acti doing anything with Skylanders now, considering Giants bombed.

Also Amalur really bombed,

like

it was nuclear

i ended up feeling sorry for the baseball guy, i dont blame EA steering away from pretty much everything after that game.

They've got SwapForce coming out later this year, which'll probably do quite well. Giants bombed because it was "the same, just bigger", which I don't think people wanted.

FFX-2 will be HD'd and will be bundled with FFX HD.

The important news is that you can just buy X-2 on Vita without having to pay extra for FFX.
