Nope, Elfen LiedQuills on Wheels wrote:I'm guessing you're talking about Kaicho wa Maid-sama?
Yeah it was a good anime. I'll get to the manga eventually but first off, I want to finish HOTD's manga. I'm a slow reader so yeah...
Anyway, next stop: Clanned.
I read about the manga. I knew the manga was totally different but I really liked the anime's ending cause it felt like a good ending. in anime like these, a lot of the main characters die usually but in Elfen Lied, it was great. There were no regrets from the people who died.Matty wrote:Nope, Elfen Lied
Thanks for the advice.Matty wrote:also Clannad.... JAP DUB PLEASE!!!
The English one is so horrible it makes my ears bleed.
It ends in a way that's asking for a second season..... that it's not going to get. It's a great show don't get me wrong but they butchered the mangaQuills on Wheels wrote:I read about the manga. The manga on the other hand seems to be a bit more sad. I read about the ending and it just doesn't suit me. Still a surprisingly good show.
This annoys me with quite a few shows lately.Matty wrote:It ends in a way that's asking for a second season.....
Leaving a moderately popular series/a series that was a bit of a gamble for the studio/network on a cliffhanger/somewhat open ending means fans want to know what happens next. The studio can then use fan demand as one of their reasons to get a second season commissioned. After all, it's easier and cheaper for a studio to re-use assets such as backgrounds and character designs/animations from an old series than to create a new one.Dr Shaneman wrote:This annoys me with quite a few shows lately.
Though half of them do get a second season, just about 2-3 years later.
Weirdly enough, Fullmetal Alchemist managed to end up with both options.Reknoc wrote:Generally speaking it seems studios are told how many episodes are allowed and they have to work in the story to that. For original anime that's not a problem, but when they're adapting something like a manga, usually ongoing, they have to choose whether to go for an anime original ending (usually turns out bad) or be faithful and hope its popular enough for more seasons (usually its not).
That amazes me even more then why each Precure series has over 100 episodes for me to watch each season >:Reknoc wrote:Generally speaking it seems studios are told how many episodes are allowed and they have to work in the story to that. Yea, its definitely one of the few. The only other one I can think of is Hellsing which got remade as a series of OVAs to be more faithful.Kaito-kun wrote:Weirdly enough, Fullmetal Alchemist managed to end up with both options.
