Do you play any instruments?

What it says on the tin...

I've sort of learned to play the acoustic guitar a little bit. I'm not that good but I can play Twinkle Star, Happy Birthday, Jingle Bells, and Ode to Joy. But a lot of the time I just randomly strum the strings for fun :P

Learn some chords man. Then you can make actual music rather easily. :P

I actually don't even know them by name like most people. You could say something like E Major 7th or something and I'd have no idea what to do, unless I literally sat there for about 2 or 3 minutes and found which notes on the fretboard that it is and everything. Thing is, I just memorize all the shapes and then I figure out where on the fretboard that they work well.

Even though I've been playing guitar for more than 5 years now, I still don't know most of the names of the chords or notes I play. I only play them buy looking at them. It's just how I can understand.

Me too, I just guess. I only memorize where my fingers should go. I at least know the letter of each string :P My fiance is able to remember the names of notes and chords though.

Haha yeah honestly not as many people as you'd think learn the names of each chord they do. Friend of mine who's in his 40's who has been playing since he was like 9 years old still just goes by shapes.

Not completely, if you're doing improv with someone and they say they want you to play from certain chords, you wouldn't really know what to do if they simply called out the name.
