Personally I really like Counter Strike. The game is just so much fun and it just makes you want to play more. It doesn't have much of a story eider, Its just Counter Terrorist trying to stop an bunch of Terrorist by eider killing them all or other stuff. But it doesn't really need a story in my opinion. You just want to kill some Bad Ass terrorists, Or Bad Ass Counter Terrorist, depending on who you are. It's really fun and the sheer amount of levels you can chose is awesome. But it's the multiplayer where Counter Strike really shines. CS is a great game to play with friends.
Although I did wish they could improve the graphics a little bit more. I know they can do better.

Now it's your turn, what's your favorite FPS franchise?

I'm not a huge fan of FPS. Infact it's the type of game I enjoy least. If I had to choose it would be borderlands due to it mixing rpg elements with the FPS genre.
Also it's a good thing that counterstrike has bad graphics, it makes the game accisble to a lot of people who own a PC, some people may not have a bery powerful PC. Besides you should only care bout the gameplay part of it.

Multiplayer: TF2
Singleplayer: Highly likely to be Bulletstorm

Or easier answer: Anything Source (Half-Life 2, TF2, Day of Defeat, Left 4 Dead)

Edit: Counterstrike has ass graphics because it's like a million years old.

I'm not a huge FPS fan either. When I was younger, I was a big fan of Unreal Tournament/Championship and used to play that with friends. I've played through the Halo series just for the co-op, never played it online, and I did play through Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 a lot as well, with friends online and offline. L4D was the only one I really enjoyed because it was fantastic working as a team with friends, helping each other out, etc, and my crappy FPS skills didn't seem as important XD

Sadly though, I seem to have lost my copy to both L4D and L4D2. I have no idea where they are. I even had two copies of L4D1 so we could system link, and I must have sold one, but the other is missing. L4D2 I actually recieved as a gift from my Uni friends, so I'm rather sad about that being missing, especially as I hadn't played it as much as the original and really wanted to. I do have L4D on Steam though.

I really loved the Turok games on the N64 when I was younger too, especially the second one, Seeds of Evil. It's a shame the modern ones were rubbish and the company now gone.

My current favorite is the Halo series.

I used to love classics like Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, Duke Nukem, and Unreal Tournament. Well I still do actually.

Don't they release new ones though? I mean they release new counter strikes all the time.
Personally, I've got decayed light. Yeah it's the light version given from my friend.

No. That last full version was like, Counterstrike: Source which I doubt is a full Source engine remake (nothing with Source in seems to be). They probably still add new maps and stuff through patchs or whatever but they don't make news ones as there's no need to.

I thought Condition Zero was the last one but Gonic has a point. The graphics are probebly turned low on purpose so even people with low graphics can play.
But yeah, the graphic doesn't really matter in Counterstrike anyway. It's the fun multiplayer.

Counterstrike started off as nothing more than a mod, they used what they had.

Same here. Not a fan of the genre at all.
