Seems Nintendo are getting criticised for using PS3/360 footage for their game previews for Wii U, as their own games were still in development.

It's worth pointing out the same thing happened when they announced the Wii.

Although I imagine that Sony's Vita price reveal didn't help at all.

So Wii U controllers are going to cost $337.
Better look after them well.

Usually I just laugh at Kotaku and the poster linking to it, but this time I just have to laugh at the poster. The article states it'll cost half the systems price ($172).

But that article is already wrong as the US price has been confirmed as $300 for the basic package.

edit: anyway, guess I'm getting a WiiU since they've announced a Monster Hunter for it and it's even getting a euro release.

Interesting to see they've stuck with an IBM PPC Processor & AMD Graphics as opposed to using a custom jobby,

Seeing as its labeled as "Multi core" i doubt it will have 8 (Cores) like the Ps3, but will be interesting seeing how close it will be in terms of performance (although it will benefit for multi tasking as ram is shared a la Xbox 360, whereas PS3 is fixed)

GPU will probably be pants as i believe i read its a HD5xxx (and thats about 3 years old now)

Not sure about the Wii U, but if they're anything like the PS3 you're looking at about $6k new i believe, then you have to buy updates to the SDK which are quite pricey and you only get X amount of licences per SDK so more of those are added on

Then you have to buy a licence/access to the developer networks for resources etc so its a costly prospect, although the Dev units do appear from time to time, most of the time though its just general debugging stations which have limited functionality without a Dev unit
