Freshly released from the GDC 2013, relive the original classics with new & improved features.
Coming soon to your iOS and/or Android device, the original Mega Drive/Genesis title Sonic the Hedgehog will be heading to these devices, completely remastered with new features and updated graphics.
With widescreen support, a remastered soundtrack and the inclusion of a Time Attack mode, the game will be available this April for $2.99 and it'll run at 60FPS too. Word from Android Police says Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is being reported to also make its way to these devices as well.
However is SEGA fully behind this port? Based on a tweet from one Christian Whitehead (the guy responsible for the Sonic CD "HD" port) , could it be that he is the one responsible for Sonic 1's, and perhaps its sequel's port?
In the meantime check out screenshots of the game's Android version below. And tells us your impressions in our comments section below the gallery.
