So, as I assume this forum will be full of Sega fans/fanboys, this is probably a good place to talk about the new Sonic the Hedgehog game.
What does everyone think of it?
Before I give my opinion, l'd like to put the record straight. I am a Sega fan, I am a Sonic Team fan, and I've loved all the 'proper' Sonic platform games (what the hell was Sonic 3D?). While many slaughted Sonic Adventure and it's sequel, I realy enjoyed playing them to completion.
Sonic the Hedeghog, however, is an abomination. There are some superb moments in the game, but they are spoiled by the stupid adventure field and it's crazy side missions, loose controls, poor animation (especially in Tails's case), random changes in characters (if I pick to play as Sonic, I want to play as Sonic), terrible camera bugs (including your character stopping or being thrown off the stage when the camera moves) and some stupid action stage ideas (the whole train thing in 'Chaos Train' is madness). And I'm only up to action stage 6 on Sonic - I haven't even played as Shadow or Silver yet.
It's the bugs I mention above that gets on your nerves the most. How the hell did the game get released with such obvious problems. Did Sonic Team even playtest it? I don't think anyone even played it after they finished making it.
Oh, and we were lied to as well. "Sonic the Hedgehog will go back to it's roots". Humour me - did anyone else see a mission where you had to fetch a kid's dog in the original Sonic? Nah, I missed that too.
I love 3D Sonic games, and I'd love to see many more. However, and this is to you Sonic Team, if you're going to treat 3D Sonic games like this one, never release another one!

Taken from my blog (http://masterhunter.blogspot.com/)
Well Sonic then, what are my views. Well despite the Gamertag problem I have continued on anyway. Screw the achievements, I'll just have to do the story twice. In the week I've played it I'm been met with mixed feelings.
First the positive, heaven knows the game needs some positive comments. The levels, particularly with Sonic are open to exploration this time, offering multiple routes throughout a level. Sonic's main style gameplay is pretty solid in comparison to Heroes and Shadow. Silver's game is different but quite well done. The use of Havok is inspired. Playing as SOME of the support characters is nice. Blaze is cool in 3D, Amy is interesting, Omega is fun and Rouge is pretty decent. Levels are also fairly long. Even with Sonic they can often take 10 minutes or so.
The story is pretty ace, well mostly, involving more scientific research, a couple of eveil entity's and a bad future waiting for the Heroes if it all falls apart. Music is great, the GC is extremely well done. It's oddly addictive, even those who slate it seem to finish the game at least.
The town stages have things to do in them this time and the bosses generally redefine the term boss, both in scale and stratedgy.
But now we get onto the bad. First thing screaming in my head is the awful way Tails has been added. For Sonic's Sidekick, a fox who can keep up with Sonic, he definately moves the SLOWEST. Even Silver feels faster and he's intensionally slower. Whoever came up with throwing dummy ring boxes needs to be shot too.
The dash stages while good in theory are clumsy in practise. Left and Right are far too sensitive and these areas are very unforgiving. In fact most of the time you'll fail the first level at first because of them. If this is what Secret Rings will be like I have serious doubts over it.
Probably the most glitchy Sonic I've played too. I've has Rouge shoot high above the stage and into a tower top she couldn't climb out off. I've had Silver fall through the floor. I've heard people complain of stuff like this before in the other games and I always felt a little weird that it didn't happen to me. Still they are few and far between.
Then there is Elise. Her only redeeming feature is that she's a redhead. Seriously appearance wise he legs look weird and overall out of place next to Sonic. The stages carrying her are oddly fun but other than that she's nothing more than a bad plot device. The Romance between her and Sonic is sickening. Not because it's Human/Hedgehog but because there has never been much romance in Sonic, which made the whole story unique.
I'm sick of main males falling in love with main females everytime. This hasn't happened in Sonic until, it seems, now. It's not needed and it feels like a part of me has died already.
But if I were to sum up Sonic in two words it would be Now Loading. Get used to those words if you decide to play it, cause you will see it a lot. I'm not kidding. Particularly in town stages where for some reason when you start a mission, it loads up an intro which is basically a grunt and some text. What the f**k is it loading that takes so long. Then we have another loading screen before the mission starts.
And occasionally you get bad save points. Like for example playing as Silver today. It asked me to save just after Aquatic Base. In between this and the next level you need to get through:
two rather long cutscenes (skippable) with loading screen in between
A crappy escort the weak civillian through a hoard of robots mission, with loading screen problems above
A long walk over a huge field
A mission where you fight a hoard of enemies with the loading screen problems above
A mission where you chose a portal based on an answer in a question. Each portal (3 in total) give you a loading screen, as well as the usual long loading screens
A mission where you fight another hoard of enemies with the loading screens
Then you finally get access to the next level. Fail to manually save and lose all lives in this level (very likely) and you have to repeat ALL of that, loading screens and all. Very frustrating.
So overall mixed impressions. Things are still broke and need improving but this doesn't mean it's a bad game. Hardly the most inspired Sonic game, or any game for that matter but if you think this is bad you should try something truely awful.
this may sound fanboyish but seriously it is not as bad as people generally are making it out to be.
Is Silver good, can you have fun with his powers? :)

Again it's mixed. Stopping rockets and throwing them back is awesome but all his attacks are either close range or throwing crates.
You can have fun but it's also very difficult to keep your rings as you'll lose them getting close to stun your enemies.

Yes, he's just been tricked. A lot like Knuckles was at first.
Judging from reviews and comments across forums everywhere, I'd rather not touch this and think that everything is still OK.
Good old Knuckles...
Dr. Robotnik/Eggman "It's Sonic, he's stolen the Chaos Emeralds, for real this time"
Knuckles "That son of a b**ch!"

The game is the most biggest dissapointment of 2006 period!

It looked good from the videos too. :(
Go to youtube and search for the ending cut scenes. More Bizarre than anything and something that will no doubt provoke more pornographic furry art from sick minded people who are probably the reason there are so many stupid new characters in the Sonic Universe.

I read an aticle on gamespot and the game got a rating of 4/10. The only credible sonic game worth paying for is Rush.
Hopefully, the next-gen Sonic will redeem himself on the Wii with Sonic and the Secret Rings. The videos make it out to be very similar to Sonic Adventure, but I suppose that's how Sonic the Hedgehog looked in its first videos as well. So I guess we'll just have to see.
*crosses fingers*
eek! i've only heard bad things about this game:ohmy: apparently the levels all look the same and there is no variety:( it would be nice if it turns out to be good:)

Bull. This is not mario Sunshine. If Sonic succeeds in anything it's in presenting a great varity in worlds.
In the game you have a Beach, Desert Ruins, Jungle, Volcano, Snowfield, Ancient Castle, Underwater base, Destroyed City, And a level where you race a train.
As for it's greatness or lack of; Expect a lot be disappointed, Expect little be surprised.
i have a DVD that has a video of the desert world and it looked like to me classic sonic action, only in 3D:biggrin: do you know where i could get videos or pictures of the other worlds?

Well, in all the build up to the two Sonic games (Sonic the Hedgehog & Sonic and The Secret Rings) the Wii title seemed to be more highly regarded. However, the terms like 'return to form' and such like don't really wash too much anymore, after we were told the same about 'Sonic the Hedgehog' (returning to the series' roots my arse...)
For the moment, I'm getting a Wii for this game, so let's hope it's a goodun!
Ah man, I was gonna get this for my 360. Guess I'll save my money for another game then.
Played this, call me strange but i liked it.
Was my standards lowered by Heroes or something.
Whatever, very kewl.
im egtting a lend of the new sonic game tonight
I CANT WAIT!!!!!!
i finshed the Xbox 360 demo about 20 times

With new videos and such out now, it's looking more and more promising. I'm not expecting it to be anywhere near as good as the 2D games, oh no, but if it's the same caliber as SA1, I'll be more than pleased.
Only a little while longer!!

I don't know about that - the two Sonic Adventure games were pretty good (or, at least, I thought so).

I agree. The Advance games weren't all that great either. 3 was good but 2 was very flawed and 1 was quite dull overall. Neither of them was anywhere near as good as Adventure 2.
According to MyGamerCard.net I'm one of only 6 brits on live to get all the achievements (It was only 4 yesterday I'm sure). 41 people overall. Shame that I'm pretty sure you get nothing but the achievements for it.
Gamertag is Masterhunter25 (for now) BTW.
I got it and its harder than the 2D games and "Sonic-Speed" parts are hard!!! What a dissapointment

I suppose its down to personal opinion. I didn't mind the Adventure games but I think that was because it was all new. I think they need to change the whole concept in 3D. You have to admit that the actual game doesn't really change. I say time for a new engine and a new approach. But again.......thats only my opinion

If anything that's the problem.
With Heroes they added teamwork and the game was mediocre so it was dropped
With Shadow they added gunplay and Hero/Dark choices and the game was mediocre so it was dropped
With Sonic 360 they added Silver's Psychic moves and the game was mediocre.
But out the three the one the played most like Sonic Adventure 2 (with the Sonic stages) was the new one and out of the three I would pick Sonic 360 anytime.
Instead of making something new they should focus on the existing formula. Tighen up the controls, Maybe add an indication where your stick is pointing (I'm still not entirely convinced that 90% of all missed homing attacks aren't due to the Gitaroo man effect*), decrease the loading times, fix the glitches and somehow make the camera work we'd have a pretty great game.
The basic idea works, in theory is should work. It's the execution where the game is lacking.
At the moment the 3D sonics are like playing guitar. It's not something you can just pick up and play you have to work at it before it plays the way you want it to. Games shouldn't be like learning guitar though.
(*The Gitaroo man effect - Sometimes the way you think the stick is pointing is not actually the way it's pointing at all. Most noticable in Gitaroo Man)

I realize everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but seriously. You must not have gotten too far into the game. Once you get to Shadow's story, the game falls apart. I've been playing the Sonic games since I was 4 and this game is no doubt the biggest disappointment in Yuji Naka's storied career at SEGA.
Then again.....no Chaotix....or NiGHTS...:(

I know, that question keeps me awake at night.
I'm still undecided, and I will stay undecided until I play the game.
But, since Yuji Naka is EVIL, I guess we'll never know.
However, that GBA game was definitely a worthy successor to NiGHTS into Dreams... ;)

10-02-2007, 21:10
Well since Yuji Naka isn't at Sega anymore I imagine he would have no say on the matter. I can't say Naka left Sega on a high either, Sonic Team crashed and burned with the Dreamcast. :(
NiGHTS into Dreams...
10-02-2007, 21:15
So true.....
However, the guy who actually made Sonic, Naoto Oshima, took Mighty the Armadillo with him, so who's to say Naka didn't take our favorite purple clown jester neckless thing with him?
And SEGA does have first looks at everything PROPE makes, so...
I have to say, after playing this game, my thought's are low at best. I've been a fan of Sonic through the high's and low's. When everyone else was saying Sonic Adventure was crap, I said it was great, when they said the Dreamcast was crap, I threw Sonic at them, when they doubted it before launch, I threw Sonic at them again, but this. I'm seriously doubting Sonic's future, I just wish Sonic Team would look at what people want, they don't want loads of characters, they don't adventure fields. I personally think they should take it back to the roots, even just a remake of Sonic 1 from 1991 in full 3D would be better than this. Personally I just want to play as Sonic and play the level design's I fell in love with. Scrap Brain, Hydrocity, GreenHill, the DeathEgg, it's upsetting after my entire childhood and most of my life playing these games, to see it all go down the drain like this. :(

Well I've got a somewhat different view on this. I agree, Sonic 2006 did indeed fail to meet fan expectations. Would you say that Sega wasted their time? I wouldn't. The sooner they figure out what they are doing wrong, the sooner they can be back on track. The important thing (to me) is to continue to support them in all they do. Sonic's future will be grim if Sega sells less games. For this reason, for myself anyway--if the game has Sonic in it, I'll probably buy it. Heck I bought Sonic 1 for the GBA knowing very well it sucked. I buy games I already have for the console also for the PC.
I also see that video game players are very fickle these days. In terms of Sonic 2006, if they took out the extra characters (Silver and Blaze) and the adventure fields, I wouldn't doubt that people would complain that the game felt too short. If they made the controls less twitchy, some people would consider the game to lack challenge. It seems like no matter what they do, someone is going to be unhappy. Even if they gave us something closer to a traditional Sonic Genesis game on XBOX 360/PS3, people would complain that they couldn't come up with anything original.
Now there is also the factor of Sega rushing games. There is no excuse for the excessive loading screens on the town missions. Its one of several things they did wrong in that game. Personally, I'd rather see them totally get rid of the missions and spend time on other things that needed improvement.
Anyhow, I think the moral of the story for me--don't be so hard on Sega. Continue to support them by buying their games. They can't get better if we stop giving them a chance. -_-
I agree with you but I've been supporting them for nearly the entire 22 years of my life, I just don't see why they don't ask the fans what they want and try to comprimise and meet expectations. I agree with supporting them, I do and fully, I often buy multiple copies of the same game for different platforms, it's like an obsession to me. I walked out with a £5 copy of Sonic Adventure DX, I have no controller for my keyboard and I own it for the Dreamcast. I walked out of ASDA with Sonic Mega Collection knowing full well I had all the ROMs on my hard drive. So I do support them and like you, buy them for other platforms too. But sometime's it just seems to fall short, and I hate it when it does because it means contradicting myself when I tell people how good Sonic really is sometime's. I want to see them succeed but I don't want the games going down the drain at the same time. Soon as a new Sonic game comes out, that's it, I must own it. I only got an XBOX 360 specifically for Sonic, I only bought a Gamecube originally for Sonic, but this one falls into the middle somewhere, it's good but it's just not what it should have been.
I got the game myself and well I just feel I've been ripped off the game had so much going for it and Sega promised the world with it but in the end the game just fell flat on its arse. The game was a rushed unfinished mess although the game did have its moments I liked the soundtrack it looked the part and was fast but after the 100th time I unfairly died I just gave up. This really is a low point for Sonic Team however they did make up for it in Secret Rings on the Wii which again is filled with problems and not perfect but it was good fun and shows that Sega are on the right track with this style of game but as for Sonic Next Gen all I have to say is it was a wasted opportunity and the worst £40 I ever spent.

The more I play it the more I realise just how much potential the title has but I have to agree with your statement. The problem is, this may be the only Sonic game to ever rear it's head onto a 360 or PS3 because of the horrible flop this game turned out to be. I don't want that to happen. With the release of Sega Rally I can put may faith in Sega again. Sonic still has a great 3D adventure in him, I just know it...

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to. But I want to see Sonic progress. I had high expectations of the latest Sonic game and even though it let me down slightly it's just reinforced my expectations for the next game. There's always something great about the newer Sonic games (even if everything else about it is a bit half-arsed) and Sonic 360 had a lot going for it. It definately has the strongest story of any Sonic game in recent years and apart from the snow stages, the game looks stunning.
I'll be completely honest, it isn't all that bad, I have played worse SEGA games, I think the thing is Sonic fans always want something more better and more constant and something like "wow" for the next release. We should give Sonic Team a break as they have new fans that are now growing up with Sonic and unlike us (can't be just me :P) old gamers from '91 and older, it was a whole new way of playing, so some elements may have to be changed. Although the best bit is Robotnik now looks like a human and not a circle with eyes and a big carrot nose. ^_^

Personally, I disagree. I perfered the old Robotnik design. I'm not saying that this design is bad, but I think that it clashes a little with the rest of the characters. Not by being a human, but because he's the only character of the main roster that's losing his fantasy feel.
Sooooo... After all the bad press, and the furore over this is long over, I'm considering getting it. Is it really as bad as people say?
This is coming from someone who really likes Sonic Adventure, even though I know most people don't.

I loved Sonic Adventure it was one of the best games on the DC despite all the glitchs.
As for Sonic next gen well some like it some hate it, like all games its best to try it for yourself.

You will like it if
1. You can stick with it beyond the story mode
2. You can stick with it until the glitches and loose controls no longer affect you
3. You loved getting 100% and mastering levels in SA1 and or SA2.
IMO it's a game worth getting 1k for but the initial frustrations are too much for many.

It was frustrating for me so frustrating infact that I lobbed my 360 joypad across my room because I was so pissed off about dying unfairly for the 100th time on one section of the last mission. I never did that before with any of my joypads no matter how bad the game was.
This game should be showed to future Sega programmers on how not to make a Sonic game.
If they did a sencond game they should call it "Sonic The Hedgehog: Sorry About The First One"
So, I decided to go out and get this. I am a gamer through and through, and the sheer notoriety this game has garnered interests me greatly, so, onto first impressions.
First off, the intro. Evidently the illegitimate spawn of several artists who huffed paint thinner whilst watching their mate play FFX, I'm somewhat perplexed. First off, despite really liking Adventure, I find the transposition of Sonic into a more realistic setting jarring, and ultimately distasteful. Sonic Team, sorry to say this, but I don't care how realistically you render him, he's a BLUE HEDGEHOG. Play TO it, don't rail against it.
Despite that, looking from a detached perspective, the intro was well animated and the dubbing actually wasn't so cringeworthy. It didn't reach the heights of Sonic Adventure's "Open your Heart" intro, but little else does.
The menus look nice. So far, so ok.
Now, the game begins - with an adventure field?? I should say at this point that I'm not one of the people that disliked them in Sonic Adventure - they were simple, short and sweet, and fun to just run about and mess around in.
However, evidently someone has been playing too much Tony Hawk's Underground. I get the feeling their original aim was to "play up" Sonic's role as a hero by having him help out people in and around the city, in a more free-form manner, only it turned out differently. It certainly ruined the pace of the game, which was set well via the intro.
Then of course there's Tails, with the voice - but let's move on.
The first level was actually, well, good. It reminded me a little of SA1's first level. However, it actually lacked SA1's sheer variety of obstacles. It just seemed to be the same few jumps, springs, and wall-jumps over and over. will say though that it was playable, and the bit with the whale was pretty cool.
One other thing irking me so far - does anyone else think that the jumping is all wrong? Like when you're running and jump, Sonic seems to lose momentum?
How about this - does anyone think you just don't run fast enough??
Well, that's it to this point. We shall see where it goes from here.

I wouldn't have minded the town missions if they would have fixed the load times and actually gave all townspeople voice actors. Their little grunts and repeated motions are quite unbearable. That and some of the missions feel incredibly unrelated to the game and make you think less of the townspeople.
One other thing irking me so far - does anyone else think that the jumping is all wrong? Like when you're running and jump, Sonic seems to lose momentum?
Sonic's jump is probably fine--especially since this game is very homing attack based. Its the twitchy walking/running controls that generally put people off. Its not exactly fun playing the game like you are tight-rope walking at high speed. :(
How about this - does anyone think you just don't run fast enough??
I think its more so that they aren't consistent with his speed. The times I really enjoyed the speed were in stages like Wave Ocean - The Inlet. In this case, however, its still cheating. You can tweak frame rates when the player is limited heavily on where they can go. The rushy music and motion blur also add to a perception of speed. It is indeed pretty fast, but only because they tweaked it that way. Makes me long for the days where you could go through scenes like Chemical Plant and blast that processing. ;)

AHAH! And that, is why I said they should remake the old Sonic games! Chemical Plant Zone in 3D... The mind boggles. Seriously, I can't be the only one who wants it done! Anyways to the game, I'm the type of Sonic gamer who sits there for hours on end until I either win, or the game just flat out beats me, which has only happens on a couple of occasions. I don't play this often, fact I barely play it at all, if I even get as far as opening the case. This game doesn't feel like the Sonic I grew to love, which is a shame because the game should feel like Sonic. Run through the first level and you know, it's Sonic, this game fails to do so. :(

No you are not the only one. I was glad when they made a 3D Green Hill but Chemical Plant in 3D. It would beat all... Or possibly a 3D carnival Night Zone would be fun.

I played the demo for 360 before and all I can say is I'm pretty close to giving up on future 3D games (Secret Rings was good but the controls can be frustrating). As far as remakes of the original games... I'm not sure if I want the Sonic Team of today doing it.
EDIT: On an additional note, I'm still hoping that someday Sonic Team can finally prove me wrong and get me truly excited like I was years ago over a Sonic game not to mention bringing me back from the brink of giving up on them.
The problem with Sonic Team is that they can build up Sonic games quite easily, but then they always fail to deliver with the finished product.
The media were buzzing about Sonic Next-Gen more than they have with any 3D Sonic, and thought that it could've been the game that made Sonic worthy to step into the 3D arena. What happened? Sonic Team ignored everything they should've learnt from Sonic Adventure 1 + 2, Heroes, and the playable car crash that was Shadow the Hedgehog, and then watched as the abysmal review scores came in.
Then, almost as if they wanted to rub people's noses in it, they go and develop Sonic and the Secret Rings, which got a GameRankings average of almost 30% higher than Sonic Next-Gen.
And there's the problem. Sonic Team are amazingly hit and miss recently. On one hand they'll go and produce an absolute stonker of a game to occupy their main series, and then on the other hand they make a gem (in comparison) to go in the spin-off series.
Make sense? No.

Like I said in another topic you may want to look at Sonic Team's current plans. There hasn't been a new 3D sonic game announced in ages and all Sonic games have been spin offs of the main series.
Perhaps they are taking their time this time.

I certainly hope so. Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 weren't too far away - they just need to go from there and make the Sonic game we all want. As long as next time they don't reel off the "we're taking Sonic back to his roots" crap. Yeah Sonic Team, the first game was buggy, badly made and made you change characters midway through each level. Well done on taking him back to his roots!

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:It would be funny if an official version of Sonic Adventure 3 would come out. That would be awesome.-_-

Dear god I hope so, and they better loosen the joystick sensitivity, or it's war. XD

You got that right.:guitar:
They should give the games more development time and more time to work on the controls, a game is no fun is you cant control it well. And for the love of god SEGA should just stuff all the new faces and trying to add new things and just have Sonic and only Sonic as a playable character this way they can spend more time on nailing his gameplay.
And since SEGA are now using Unreal Engine 3 who knows what they will do with it? Maybe Sonic Team will make a true next gen Sonic game with it.
Or maybe they should get the help of Miyamoto to make the next one.
That would be ironic. Shigsy working on a Sonic game.
It'd be pretty cool, I must admit, but very ironic.

Well he did work on Mario & Sonic.
Only as an advisor though. As far as I'm aware he didn't actually do any coding or anything for it.

Gotta play the demo first man ;P. The day I got my 360 I downloaded it and gave it a whirl, didn't play for more than 2 minutes it was so awful and not even close to what it should have been.
The next gen Sonic seems to focus way to much on speed. And it's the speed of everything that really hurts the game play. Personally I would like to see Yu Suzuki giving it a shoot. He seems to always craving for perfection.:)

Thats an idea I think that will be cool to see. Thinking of Yu Suzuki did he work on Sonic the Fighters? The game was made by AM2.
Other then that I would like to see the Monkey Ball team have a go at Sonic. The Monkey Ball engine seems very stable for 3D games when it comes to controls and it can be used for lots of different things, for example SEGA used the Monkey Ball engine when they were making F-Zero AX so if it can be used for a racing game then why not a 3D platform action game?
The AV team could also do a lot of good for Sonic. They have done very little wrong in the few recent years. And they seem to be competent in most areas.
Yu Suzuki was involved in the making of Sonic the Fighters.
It was the character designer Masahiro Sugiyama at Am2 that originally put Sonic and Tails into Fighting Vipers. Yu Suzuki saw it and liked the idea. Then he got the approval of Yuji Naka who also thought it was a very good idea to make a beat em up with them. This was actually Sonic's debut in 3D and was released in 1996 in the arcades in Japan.:)

I found it was too slow. :( ...and I mean come on! This is a Sonic game right?!
But then again maybe it was just the camera angles or something ..?

I finally got to play this game. Being a huge Sonic fan, and this game being possibly the worst Sonic game EVER. I actually liked, no LOVED this game. The only things I didn't like is the poor expression in the characters faces, and the story. Other than that, it was a VERY good game.

Any executive or head manager that had a say in Sonic's release date and state of being rushed should have been fired.
Why fired?
Because of the fact that the awful 360 reviews were in WEEKS before the PS3 launch, yet they did nothing. No delay. They could have made massive bug fixes.
The games were 11 weeks apart. How dumb was it to release the same game that got review scores as low as 20 out of 100? Someone should have been scrambling to fix the game after the 360 release.
Fired I say.

I remember hearing rumors that SEGA were working on a patch that would fix the game and make it more playable but this of course was not true.
But you are right someone should get the chop.

Yeah but if you were already over budget on development time and were struggling to get the PS3 port to perform at the speed of the 360 port (they actually adjusted the clipping closer on the PS3!), they were lucky to get the game out the door.
Also, if you produce the game in a different manner on one system versus another, it may show favoritism. I mean, if the PS3 port was better because they spent much more time on it, people would still not focus/realize this and feel like the PS3 was the better system. The only instances of differences should because of things distinct to a system. -_-
