Okay, this is probably like the 5th time I've made a thread like this, so I do appologise -_-

My problem is, I've done research, looked in and out of stores and am still stuck with the same problem

Is there any game on the PS3 actually worth the money they ask for? (Besides MGS4)

For me its either too expensive, or I can find it on the 360 with better online & achievements

I keep trying to have fun with it =[ but never find anything to have fun with

Edit: I currently own Heavenly Sword (fantastic), Resistance (not so fantastic) and Eye Of Judgement (Fun, ish)

I don't believe the PS3 offers enough over the 360, to warrant it's high cost. And the 360 already has a substantial catalogue of excellent games. Spend the money on half a dozen 360 (or Wii) games instead.

No no, I already have a PS3 ^__^"

But it really has been collecting dust for the past few months, its more of a glorified DVD player...that also shows photos

All games I see for it are already on the 360...or just not my type of thing...

Course, I'd sooner buy a duplicate game on PS3 that touch that horrid Wii XD

I'm a Wii man myself, but everyone has their opinions. Sell the PS3, then buy more games!

I'd never live it down if I sold it :P plus, it is the best system of this gen, I'm sure a good game will come out sooner or later

My brother has a wii, so I play it now and then, I just really really hate motion controlls, they totally spoil perfectly good games...

While some games rock with motion, wii sports was fun =] others that would work much better on a pad feel the need to incorporate waggling controls >< icky

Only by hardware and even then no one has actually done anything to prove this since most games look identicle on the 360.

But I guess one day it'll get enough exclusives to be something more than Blu-ray player that also plays games.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is in my view, the best game on the PlayStation 3. Metal Gear Solid 4 was an interesting experience, but is way overhyped considering it's mostly flash and weak on substance. Uncharted has 3rd person cover & shoot mechanics like Gears of War, but has platforming/exploration/puzzle solving. It features some of the best graphics in this game generation so far, a strong soundtrack, a great cast of characters, and lots of enjoyable gaming.

Ratchet & Clank Future, and Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds are the other two titles I also recommend. The former is a great platformer (Lord knows we don't have many of them these days), and the latter is simple, relaxing fun... a golf game that doesn't take itself seriously at all.

I played a demo of Drake's fortune =] it certainly had humour, but all the combat seemed to -Duck, shoot, duck, kill, move, duck-

Ratchet and Clank looks fun but I think I'd finish it in a day ^__^" and I'll look into golf =] not into golf games but it sounds fun!

Oh, and MGS4 totally lived up to the hype XD It didn't get enough hype! That's game of the year -_-

I'm a Wii woman. ^_^ But the PS3 does look like it will have a lot going for it. GT 5 and 6 and Metal Gear. Looks like it could have some good titles but for the time being, I only see GT and MG as viable one's. It's worth some time for these games in my opinion.

My mate offered me his 40gb with gt prologue pack over the weekend for £160. Nearly got it but the only game I want to play is Metal gear and that seems alot of money to pay for one title.

True =] but I use it more for media

It browses the net well, and it can store a lot of video, with a converter I have hundreds of anime episodes there

It also plays blu-ray...I'm assured that's very important

But that's an amazing deal =] if all else failed you could sell it for twice the price, or trade it for a mountain of games XD

Yeah I thought about getting it just to sell it on but he needed the money on the day because he was skint and I couldn't get it til the day after.

Actually it's not. Blu-Ray is an IP product designed to replace DVD. Sony invented it to make money off people who think like you. If anything Blu-Ray is like Windows, a closed product designed to gain a monopoly on a media format and market. -_-

Yeah I know what Blu Ray is =] and HD DVD

The prospect of replacing my entire DVD collection for triple the price I paid for it originally isn't what I'd call exciting...especially when there's just a teeny tiny difference on screen...on a screen I'd only be able to watch for an hour a day, as the tv in my room sucks...

To be fair, the interactive system on Blu-ray is Java which is an open standard whereas HD-DVD use the microsoft developed HDi.;)

Actually Java isn't an open standard yet. It has been open sourced (in parts as far as I am aware of) under a Sun Microsystems open license along with various parts of the SunOS (Solaris) OS and is a CLI language. Java sucks. ^_^

Well, with that kind of oversimplification applied to any game, you can make anything sound bad.

Not ANY game, but certainly a lot :P

Yeah drake's fortune...tomb raider meets GOW's covering system meets a joke book...

Its actually really fun, but I think I'd pass...or get it cheap...

The only Tomb Raider clone thats ever done combat right is Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb, and by right I mean slightly less awful.

Why didn't they make a next gen Indy like that? I don't want another lego game :(

It's still in development, though fuck knows where it is or how far along in development it is.

Sounds like we've got another Duke Nukem Forever on our hands.

I doubt that, that would mean Lucasarts would give a damn if it's finished or not.

Gavvie

True. They did recently confirm that it's still in development though, so that might be promising.

To be honest, I'm surprised that it's not got a name yet. I thought it was gonna be based on the film, which was why the name was a closely guarded secret, but apparently not.
