Hi,
does anyone remember this game? The Dreamcast was really lacking in decent football (soccer) games and this was probably one of the best available. Not that that's saying much. Used to play it for hours with my mates.
It was possible to put a shot on target from almost anywhere on the pitch, so you could score some screamers. My furthest goal was 104m playing women's football as India against Japan- I'm not joking!
UEFA Dream Striker..hm, that was the decent UEFA one, wasn't it?
I remember wanting one of the UEFA games, but can never remember which one. Still, I have to disagree, I think Virtua Striker 2 was one of the better footy games on the DC. I always wanted to give 90 Minutes a whirl as well, but had heard that it wasn't very good.
Was the UEFA game part of the SWWS series? That one was quite good in it's day. To bad Sega seems to have dropped the series. Was ace on the Saturn!

I own that.

Yeah it's a shame about SWWS, incredible game on the Dreamcast, beats Fifa.
I remember seeing UEFA Striker in the shops but I never picked it up so. Can probably pick them up on Amazon cheap now.
I own that.

Uefa Striker was pretty dry if I remember, even worse than those pseudo sequels to the SWWS series. SWWS Euro edition was a bit better, but still had leaden pace and the passing wasn't too crisp either. Games would routinely decend into tackling competitions between playes who weren't too good.
What was it like?
I really have no idea. Sits on my shelf with my other Dreamcast games, am yet to stick it on. But hey, with SWWS you don't really need it.
Wait, I think I saw that on a local game store (with the famous label "Used w/ Guarantee") by 10€ or 15€, I think. But I've never played it and the game was named "UEFA Dream Soccer", so I don't know if it's this one.
90 minutes is quite good. Reminds me a bit of the SWWS series.

You're right, it was UEFA Dream Soccer, here's the cover art: http://xboxmodz.com/DC/U_Z/images/222f.jpg (http://xboxmodz.com/DC/U_Z/images/222f.jpg).

There's a big difference between UEFA Striker http://www.gamershell.com/static/boxart/small/uk/8614.jpg (http://www.gamershell.com/static/boxart/small/uk/8614.jpg) and UEFA DREAM Striker http://xboxmodz.com/DC/U_Z/images/222f.jpg (http://xboxmodz.com/DC/U_Z/images/222f.jpg). The former was a decent enough game, but dream striker was better in my opinion. Well worth picking up a copy if you can find it!
Yeah, Dream Striker was the one I was thinking of. I remember UEFA Striker being bollocks :p Never played the other one though.

I think Uefa Striker was the first football game for the Dreamcast. It gave me a few hours of fun but felt half finished, the goalies had no gloves on and it said on the case Ruud Gullit was a commentator, but he only actually said a few lines when you got to the final. It was one of those games where it's bollock hard to score at first but then piss easy when you figure it out, too

Haha! Yeah I remember that, the goalkeepers had no gloves! And the commentary was done by Jonathan Pearce- I don't remember ANY Ruud Gullit commentary. It's better than the Uk version of SWWS '98 on the Saturn though. The commentary kept cutting off mid sentence. I think it was something to do with the English commentary being longer than the original Japanese.
